Speed up your Acrobat Reader!!

This little app basically removes all the unnecessary plug-ins that you'll never use. I have tested that it works fine for Acrobat Reader 5 but it's probably good for Acrobat Reader 6 and other versions too It loads noticably faster for me. Yes I know you can remove it manually but I'll rather have a simple program to do it for me.

Edit: I have no idea what this does for the Acrobat suite guys, this is for the reader only!

I did it a while back. It's just trial and error to see which components you need and which you dont. Works great.

I use version 5 as version 6 is far to slow even on a fast system. Is it realy that much faster now?

if you have access to a mac running os x check out preview.app. fricken' flies! would be nice if ms would build in a pdf viewer.

Does it work more for just the Reader or for the full program? Actually, i never use the full program anyway, I jsut create stuff in Word and save it as PDF. I'll have to try it tonight.

I'm told the XP betas had one.

Tried it on system with 6.0 and it said that it could not detect and installed copy of the reader.

Any ideas.

Talk about bloat. They should've never shoved so much bullsh*t in the reader that it took that long to load to begin with.

nothing great about this. all it does is move the plugins to another directory. you can do that yourself and see how fast the reader loads up.
