Well not all alone. A friend figured his minivan could take the 4.0 HO I had under my hood. I wasn't gonna go that fast till i realized I was off my speed-o-meter. Mine only goes to 85. He was at about 110-115 and I was pulling away from him.

105 in my saturn on the freeway when it was empty. I haven't been past 85 since and that was well over a year ago. If I'm going to speed like a maniac I take my Chevelle or Saturn and go to a track or dragstrip.

Fastest I have gone on a track ( 1/4 mile ) is 124.56 MPH in my dodge. My spedo only goes to 120, so not sure how fast I have had that going but at somewhere around 135-140 the front end comes off the ground, and I have to slow down.

Fastest measured speed I have gone is about 148 in my 1.8L prelude ( paced by a friend at work in his vette on the Elgin - O'hare )

118 in my mitsubishi galant...but that was on the original transmission... I'd be lucky to get 105 on my current one. Ohh yeah, when I was speeding, I was on I-75 driving North of Atlanta and I was slightly drunk.....and umm...I was underage. Ahh memories! But it was my sister's wedding day, so it was ok. I've grown up now (2 years later) and I don't speed too often anymore. The most I'll do on the highway is usually 10 over the speed limit and most troopers will pull you over for doing 8...so watch out.

In illinois it depends on where you are more than what speed you are doing. At 8 oclock in the morning on 290, Cops wave at you when you spped by doing 95. Come to Chicago where 20+ over is the slow lane.

yeah tell me about it. I got one on Nov. 8, 2001 and one on Dec. 22, 2001. I can't afford another ticket now.


As far as fastest I've gone. I hit the 105 mark following a friend once, his dumb ass wouldn't slow down when I was trying to follow him to someone's house.

As far as my tickets. 80 in a 55 for the first (but it was 285 in Atlanta, which means I was going with or slower than traffic)
Second one I was doing 56 in a 35 (I thought it was a 45 zone, so 56 wouldn't have been too bad, I was wrong however, live and learn)

on I-5, on a weekend afternoon, in perfect weather, with no one visible on the road as far as I could see in either direction. Had I gone off the road, I would have hit a cow pasture on either side.

145 mph on a deserted freeway in Alabama in a 70' 440 6-pack challenger driving to a drag strip... a camaro came alongside me and passed ...my buddies called me chickensh!t so I wound it up to 145 and passed the camero like it was standing still...back in my "young-n-dumb" days

I think the absolute fastest I've ever gone was about 83mph; not sure if the limit was 55 or 65. That time I just sort of totally forgot to keep checking my speed.
I've been driving almost 2 years now, and never gotten a ticket or been in an accident. I live in the country, and I think I may have hit only maybe 2 small animals on the road total. I just hope that things keep up like this.
