That's exactly right... at your age.. with maybe 1 to 2 years experience, you Don't know how to drive... at least not well enough to anticipate potential problems.

Point in case... i just recently took a defensive driving class (no.. not for the points off.. for the insurance reduction) and the instructor shows us a video.. tells us to &quot;count&quot; the potential problems... he won't tell us how many yet..

I counted 35.... most of the class counted 15-20.... there were 80 potential problems in the video. By potential.. i mean accident causing conditions.

I'm 28... most of the class was in their late teens, early 20s..

guyver is right. Teenagers seem to think they are great drivers (as said, all my friends did), and once again at my age I realize how little I did know. Just because I don't race around corners all the time doesn't mean I've lost my touch - after a few years driving you encounter a lot of close-calls and they train you well. Teenagers _suck_ at driving. The only thing that makes it worse is that being a teenager of course they think they know it all. The problem is that most accidents are between two people. You know what you're gonna do but anticipation and prediction is all that tells you what another person can do, so regardless of how good a driver you are if you're not watching out for other people and racing around bad things can happen!

I had that happen to me the other day. I stopped at the local convienience store on my way to work to get the paper. Since I am only grabbing a paper, I stopped my car (didn't even turn it off) near the door (not in a parking spot, but I wasn't blocking the laneway or anything either). So this mouthy guy comes up to me and says &quot;Do you think you're special and you get to park here?&quot;

So I said &quot;Do you think your special and have the right to tell me about it? You're just pi$$ed you didn't think of it first!&quot;

Then he mumbled something, and walked away... heheheh.

And you aren't arrogant for parking right in front of the store are you?
Another typical teenage response. You won't be laughing too much when someone takes your car for a spin or they just move it for you. I bet you saved yourself a whole 30 seconds of walking time didn't you?
There's a reason insurance for teenage guys is at about 2X the rate for people who have some experience under their belt. Attitude and a lack of experience are a deadly mix.

What kind of reasoning is that??? Speed limits are set for a reason. Just because others are dumb enough to break them doesn't mean you should too.

I'd rather find a race track to race at, which I can't cause they are pretty far away from where I live, and learn some racing skills my self, cause it's just so fun. I don't wanna be the next idiot killing people cause I think I'm so great.

And no, I don't think I'm a great driver.

And that somehow makes it less wrong? Point is speed limits exist for a reason. The cops will give a rat's ass as to how good of a driver you are or how fast your car is. You're young. You're inexperienced. You're arrogant. Take this as a learning experience. No one here wants to see you get into an accident or kill anyone regardless of their death threats and mindless rants.

And, oh about speed. I had a friend with a z28 with mod chips, performance exhaust, etc. We got up to 155 on the dan rian (55, construction) in chicago once. Car nearly fell apart.

That was pretty stupid.

VirtuaMike, I'd have to disagree with you. I personally don't care if Hyudra wants to kill himself. If he's that stupid, maybe society is better off if he's dead. One less moron to reproduce and have 18 moron children. The problem I have with his stupidity is that most likely it will not be just him kissing a brick wall at 70mph, but hitting a minivan with children or missing a turn and ending up hitting a house.

If I find someone driving that fast, I'll track them down and when their car is parked. I'll fill their tires with water! This will make it very difficult to drive above 45 mph!
