Or you could say that you were speeding to your friends house because he was about to commit suicide because he never became a banker.

Call the circuit court responsible for your ticket and find out which DA is assigned to prosecuting it. If possible, try to talk to them in advance of your court date. Explain any mitigating circumstances as to why you were riding that fast (should be a short conversation). Either then or on the court date, ask the DA about getting the ticket dismissed. If you have a clean record you can probably get it reduced or dismissed. If it's not so clean, or you can only get it reduced, plan on going to traffic school to get it off your record.

Oh, and don't go so fast.

I really dont get people like you...you admit you were speeding (breaking the law) and that you have been speeding before. So what if they have quotas...think of all the other times you got aay with it and finally got caught. when you took your tests to get your lisence you agreed to abide by the rules..one of which was drive at the posted speed limit.

Who gives you the right to decide what crimes a police officer should go after? Its his job to keep all the laws enfoced, you broke it now pay up. You bitch about how police are the lowest form of life yet i bet if your speeding ass was getting mugged or killed you wouldnt politely refuse their offer to help. Likewise if sosme oen ran into you because they were speeding would you not press charges?

you dont want to agree to follow the posted speed limits then protest by turning in your Drivers Liscence otherwise STFU and pay up.

... man are you getting flamed up the @$$ or what... hahaha

go to court and ask them to lower the fine and just take the traffic school... i wouldn't fight a ticket unless it was for something really petty or something i really need to do... but that's just me... and i can't stand things that take that much time... that's an added hassle i don't want to deal with.

If for some reason you think you have a fighting chance against something you know you did wrong... here you go...

Fight it! Everyone here at AT does play the Holier then thou card, all the time. Also learn not to ask these guys for advice. They all think they are perfect.

Besides, I know how you feel, cops are often out looking for someone to give a ticket to because they have to meet their quota. Its stupid, but they are required to give a certain amount of tickets a month.

all you self-righteous atoters need to screw off. i have no clue how you can fight this but i think you should do whatever you can to try to get out of it. go to court and see if you can sway the judge. chances are you wont be able to but if speeding tickets piss you off as much as they do me, then best of luck to you.

how are the people on here playing self righteous ?

he admitted that he did 63 in a 45 which is really up there~

and he cries because the police caught him in the act ?

you put your finger in the cookie jar when you're not suppose to and you'll get your ass handed to you~

in his case~ the speeding ticket~

The best he can do is prolly talk to the prosecuter~ and talking with him~ there will usually be a long line~ and he doesn't want to be there as much as you dont want to be
the people with lawyers go first~ then whoever came the earliest~..

I say get there an hour or so early he'll usually automatically look at the ticket and if he is willing to bring it down to a lesser charge but a higher fine~ he'll offer it... but they usually don't give a crap about whatever stories you might have~ ...

the stories goes to teh judge~

I got a speeding ticket in milwaukee, wi and i just showed up to the court (date should be on the ticket) and they removed the point violation of the ticket (so it didnt affect my insurance), but i still had to pay the ticket. Which is A LOT better than the insurance increases. So show up and cross your fingers, you could get lucky. (But they won't remove the fine , but you might lose less points which saves more money than the fing insuracnce increases. Fing insurance companies :|.)

If your state has a traffic school program, and you are eligible (no other recent tickets), do it. It will cost about the same as the ticket, but it will keep it off your record so it won't affect your insurance rate. If you're lucky, they'll have a program you can complete on line.

If that doesn't appeal to you, I agree with everyone else. You did it. Suck it up, and pay it.

Traffic cops must be lowest form of life seeing as how "ticketing" and generating revenue is their only goal. NO real crime is stopped..

Oh boo hoo. No the lowest form of life would be the members of our society that are not will to take resposibilities for their own actions.

No really crime was stopped? Where you speeding? Is this a crime? Question answered.

Have I got a speeding ticket? Yes

Did I pay it? Yes because I was speeding.

Did I slow down? Yes, maybe you should do the same.

You complained that the police should be protecting the children? I think the philosophy is that those who have trouble following the speed limit are a danger to everyone else. While the area you were speeding in didn't create a danger to other people there, it does indicate that you choose to disobey the law while in control of your car. What are you going to argue? "Your honor, I never ever speed when there are other cars, I only speed when I'm on a road all by myself" Then, "your honor"'s going to laugh, and say "Guilty!" I'd much rather they set the speed trap where it proves to be less of a distraction to the law abiding drivers. If the officer pulled over a speeder 50 feet from a school crossing, don't you think that passing motorists may try to see who the driver was, distracting them from watching out for children?

Pay it. Big difference between wanting to do your best to avoid the charges and complaining about the injustice of it all. Admit you were in the wrong, and then take it from there. The reason the holier than thou brigade is out is because you're complaining about the thing in the first place.

Screw the holier-than-club. You and I both know that they drive down the freeway at 5 over just like everyone else. Anyone who says that they never speed I consider a liar of the lowest sort. Either that or an anal retentive prick with his head up his ass.

However, it is unlikely than you can win this one. You gave very little info but I assume that you were pegged dead on. Radar "tests," like was the gun calibrated? or did the officer receive proper training? etc. do not work anymore. The wheels at the traffic revenue-generation machine are quite well-oiled these days and America is populated almost entirely by idiotic brainwashed sheep.
My advice:
- pay it
- go the traffic school route
- or take the time (expect 2-3 hours in court) and take it to the judge and try to the fine reduced.

Good luck.

Suck it up. Someday you will witness (or be involved in) a terrible accident and maybe then you will learn that rules are there for a reason.

All the cops are doing are enforcing the law~

63 on a 45~ what are you a dumbass ? if it was 50 on a 45 and they pulled you over~ it maybe a wtf~ but a 63 ?

I don't know where this guy's from, but out here in Chicago if I were doing 45 in a 45 zone on the Kennedy, I'd be more likely to get a ticket for impeding traffic than I would if I was keeping up with the flow of traffic (i.e. everybody else) and going 63.
