Is there anything in Australia that can't kill you or rot an appendage off from just one bite?

Well, there is this redhead down by Sydney . . . .

Just to calm the heebee jeebies going on in this thread, 99% of spider's fangs are not strong enough, not to mention long enough, to go through human skin.

Arent they like the most poisonous spiders in the world?

daddy long legs are the most poisonous..but they cant break the skin wif deer teef, so the are harmless to us...omg i remembered something from high school

wrong, the mythbusters guy's tried this theory and proved it wrong, the venom from a daddy long legs is a really weak version of the black widow's venom, it causes a bit of itching but no real effects

true, when i was young and i attended a lions camp. i picked up several daddy long legs and scare other campers. it was a good memory.

I remember seeing on Animal Planet that some spider, can't remembe the name (probably one of the ones you mentioned, is responsible for thousands of cases each year. Usually involving youngsters, where the spiders re hiding amongst toys and other things.

yep, sound like the funnelweb, they come out when it rains to find a mate and because they are only found in sydney, they are very common in peoples backyard, the have a highly venomous cousin called the mouse spider, it's even more common and wider spread..and has longer fang upto one and half centimetres long...I really hate those ones.

Yep, if he thinks daddy long legs are dangerous..maybe I should mail him a funnelweb to play with...or better yet a white tail...those things are tiny..not much bigger than a DLL, but fvck don't they pack a punch...a flesh eating one
