The entire Venom storyline should rightfully deserve it's own 3 movie set.

Movie #1 - Spidey encounters the symbiote and how the symbiote interacts with Spidey. Spidey realizes that the symbiote isn't all it's cracked up to be, and finds a way to get rid of it.
Movie #2 - Rumors of another web slinging super hero start to circulate. Introduce Venom. Venom and Spider-man fight it out. Cameo appearance by Tony Stark to help Spider-man fight off Venom. They beat Venom and put him into prison.
Movie #3 - Carnage is introduced. Explore the whole Spider-man, Venom, Carnage triad with Spidey and Venom coming to terms to defeat Carnage

Carnage is just some extreme, unoriginal cheese. Venom was cool but I wouldn't watch a movie with Carnage.ever.

It's not like these things haven't changed hands... even since Sony/Columbia's Spiderman (Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, and then Hulk in The Avengers).

They have made the same mistakes with this film as they made the last time.

Casting is terrible. CGI is terrible

Hmm something felt rather off about that video. Ignoring the fact that about 75% of that was shown in other trailers ( making it more like a 1 minute teaser -- the bridge scene ), something about his voice just throws me off. It was mostly during the scenes where he's Spider-Man. His acting sounds really forced to me, and it really pulls me out.

I didn't have a problem with Garfield in The Social Network, and the quieter scenes with him in the older trailers or the teaser sound fine, but that just tells me that his ability to act in a meek manner is good.

I'll still probably go see it though.

Unless this upcoming Spider-Man movie performs poorly, I doubt that it will happen. Ang Lee's The Hulk was pretty much universally panned, and hence, Marvel ended up getting its license back. Although, Marvel's The Incredible Hulk wasn't exactly a fan favorite either.

Even "The Incredible Hulk" was farmed out by Marvel Studios. Iron Man, that same year, was their first in-house production.

The preview looked good to me. I don't understand all the folks turning up their nose at this movie. I enjoy watching movies and consider it a good way to spend 2 hours relaxing, even if they all can't be cinematic masterpieces.
