a great magazine. is now gone. now all we got left is these stupid ricetastic import magazines.

those who like SCC shed a tear of sadness for the loss.

apparently the last issue that will come out. is next months. feb 2009.

Their magazine sucks anyway, they have a million ads and all their editorials suck monkey balls.

every vehicle coverage is an big freaking advertisement:

"Joe Smith's 1999 Honda Civic SI rides on 19" konig rims, lowered by konig shocks, tuned by hondata model 300, Interior entertainment include a pioneer fb700 dvd navigation.."

That is a joke my friend.

Out of a say...2 page review of a car, they may have 1 sentence in there regarding how fast the car run in the 1/4.

It is. I'm a journalist, and can say with extreme confidence that internet convergence is killing printed publication as we know it. Periodicals, mags, and newspapers all have quickly dropping subscription rates.

i read scc regularly, about 8 or so years ago. i looked into it once in a while going back a couple years, and it just wasn't the same. the the in-depth information and quality of writing were gone. as far a i can tell, it reverted to hawking wings and spinners.

I liked the mag, but honestly I could see the sport compact industry dying.


Every "ricer" with a Civic/Integra has wrecked and destroyed any nice car still available out there used. Add in the fact that these cars are cheap, the people are cheap they go on eBay and buy the knock-off versions of performance modifications.

The sponsors (usually performance tuners) do not have the cash for marketing or cash at all because people stopped buying the product and buying cheap eBay stuff. That means less money for the advertising to the magazine.

Now people can say ok, wrx's, evo's, sti's, used BMW's, S2000's, 350z's are all going to become affordable soon to the tuner crowd... but those are still $10,000+ cars too expensive to their target audience.

Forums are a better wealth of knowledge although having a physical mag to help you is nice too. Sad to see it go, it was a niche magazine. I bought their 20yr anniversary issue
