SSD Running slow

I have the paitrot wildfire 120gb. It is 6 months old, and my system has been runing slow.

AS SSD new:
Seq: 500 read / 220 Write

AS SSD now:
Seq: 380 read / 115 Write

Nearly dropped in half!
the wiper.exe utility will not work as this is a sandforce controller and it causes data corruption on those.

I have already tried a diskpart clean, and re-imaged. It did not improve anything.

ideas?

Most "secure erase" methods just write zeros over the drive, which does not restore performance. The Linux method will trigger the drive's internal secure erase command and it definitely works.

Parted Magic is not the same, and this is coming from a personal experience.

Are you sure? I've used it on at least seven or eight drives and it seems to restore like-new performance each time. It also erases sandforce drives in 2 secs, which seems to correspond to the hdparm method described in the article.

Even if it isn't exactly the same, I'm sure it's a reliable way of secure erasing the drive with the internal secure erase command. The latest version even seems to circumvent the BIOS-locked drive issue.

I was originally referred to using Parted Magic by Sean on the Mushkin Support forums, so evidently Mushkin recommends it for securing erasing their Sandforce drives.

I've had drives that didn't work with Parted Magic while the Linux method worked flawlessly. Kingston V+100 is the first one that comes to my mind. Of course, Parted Magic should work but I can't recommend it because my experience with it has not been as good as with the Linux method. It can always be handy to have a Linux on a small USB stick anyway, I have mine on some old 1GB stick (it only takes like 700MB).
