Just got back from some staples and figured I'd share what I found. I went to my first one to pick up some IBM CD printable CD sleeves my sis told me about and lo and behold ... I found a Conext 500 VA ups ! It was marked 29 and rang at 20! I thought these things were gone long ago, but it pays to have a 'ghetto' staples I guess. Some other interesting items:

Varied PRice: All linksys network devices. I have no idea why but my staples was clearing out all linksys networking devices at what looked like 40-50% off. All other staples I went to had no linksys in stock at all.

$50 : Kodak DC3200 Camera.. no optical and 2X digital zoom, 2mb internal and compactflash slot. 1.0 Mp. Regularly $150. HOT! if you want a cheapo camera to just take pictures. Had 4 or 5 at my ghetto staples

$20 : Royal PDAs with touchscreen and 192Kb, PC sync (uses batteries, not charger)

$30 : Royal PDAs with 768K, touchscreen, PC Sync, and backlight (uses batteries, not charger)

$6.50 : some sort of massage pad for chairs w/heat and remote. Looked pretty nice, but only 29.99 regularly.

$0.50-$1.50 All sorts of specialty papers, translucent, photo, etc. Had some neat file and report cover style stuff that was regularly $9

$32? : Targus starter kit for Palm m500/V. Includes leather case, charger, stylus and keyboard I think. Regularly $80. GREAT DEAL

$29 : Philips 4 point surround system, reg 59... ymmv

$19 : Cybiko (?) Extreme pda/game thingie. Has some sort of wireless function but couldn't tell how it worked. Any info appreciated. Does not have PC link it looked like

$50 : Dlink Wireless USB network... seems a bit high for clearance

$14.50: Hoover wireless vac. Basically a golrified dustbuster made into an upright. Has rotors and uprigth style head for cleaning carpets. Charges and hangs on wall.

$10 : Assortment of casino, golf, chess handheld games. Kinda pricey but looked like good quality.

$4.99 : Oil Tycoon for PC. Cheap and looked good for fans of tycoon series.

$5: Ulead photoimpact 6.. been posted before. Great program for 5 bucks.

$10: Ulead Videostudio 5... been posted before. Great program for 10 bucks.

EDIT/ADDED:

$20 Dlink USB sharing device. Seems like a kinda dumb idea but someoen might want it. Reg $40. Allows 4 computers to share 1 usb device. You hook all 4 up to it and the USB device and switch computers via switch on device. Seems like cable costs alone would make this useless but who knows.

Also, nonclearance but for those that want it, staples now carries a Ti graphlink USB cable for 20 bucks. Pricey but this is USB version, not homemade serial port one. Comes supposedly with $15 MIR in box , but does not support Ti83,85 or 86 for some reason.

I'll post more as I remember or others can join in.

I had (still have) a Cybiko... I really did not mess with it much, got it for free in the aforementioned contest. Was fun for about 10 minutes.

Not real surprised they did not last.

The Targus starter kit is down to $15 at one of my local stores.

Yesterday I noticed they had the HP 318 and 620 marked down to $69.xx. Don't ask me why both cams were the same price.

I also saw a Siemens 2.4Gh expandable phone system down to $59.50 (reg $159)

A version of the TI Graphlink is available for $15 at OfficeDepot (at this link) w/ a $15 MIR in the box. If it turns out to be the USB version, buy it at Staples pricematching w/ the OD price. You'll earn 50¢ for buying the item -- just enough to cover the rebate's postage!

One of the Target's by me still has these things on the clearance rack. Same ole $10 sticker on them but I'm sure they're much lower now.

I picked one up at a different Target for $1.24 just for the rebate, I don't own a TI graphing calculator.

I think you can get free shipping on some orders under 50.... possibly not next day though. Don't know how they decide.

Ye gotta check clearance stuff at Office Depot, Staples, and Target regularly (like once every week or so). Office Depot is the ONLY store I've seen that'll clearance NEW items, simply 'cos they're not moving. I bought a Body Glove case for my Sprint phone (Samsung NS400), brand-spanking new, for $7, just 'cos they weren't selling. The damned thing's $25 normally!

$5: Ulead photoimpact 6.. been posted before. Great program for 5 bucks.

I'm in chicago (no staples around for like 50 miles). Anyway, if someone would consider picking one of these up for me, I would give ya a couple bucks for your trouble.

hey man, Cybikos rock... there is a C compiler for it so you can run tons of home brewed software, and with the right software (which you can download) you canuse these guys to set up a true wireless network in your home for splitting network connections to your PC... for the price of them now they're pretty spiffy

Where's this so called software at? If you could really use them for any valuable distance I might have a project I could use a few for.

They could be fun for kids for sure for things like 'war' ... or on field trips or something.

$14.50: Hoover wireless vac. Basically a golrified dustbuster made into an upright. Has rotors and uprigth style head for cleaning carpets. Charges and hangs on wall.

Would this be perfect for little clean ups or in the car?

It's nearly the size of an upright and has no hose attachment. It's more suited for apartments and probably runs relatively quiet.
