Kessler syndrome, here we come!Damn I thought they had fixed that. That kind of sucks. Wait until all the other companies like Amazon want to get in on this it's going to pretty much white out the whole sky in long exposures.
Kessler syndrome, here we come!
A true high power CME? Nothing, we don't even have that really on the surface. Normie flares? Probably well enough to survive it.I wonder how much protection they have from solar flares. Not that we need to see a graveyard of Starlink toasted items in the orbital landfill.
Well, I doubt I'm going to get a hand laser pointer to stay columnated at 550KM even if they are overhead so I guess a laser from Amazon?
I completely forgot about Jaser!Just rent the Jew Space Laser.
We probably waste a lot more materials just throwing away computers, those sats aren't very big, and are pretty simplistic in nature. They also only last 5 years due to orbital decay/fuel onboard so they're basically disposable. That's one aspect I really don't like, it seems so wasteful when you account for the fuel needed to launch them as well as fact that things like solar panels and batteries use rare minerals that will be near impossible to re-harvest after. I guess it might be a wash, since the infrastructure itself does not require much energy at all. No telco trucks going to COs, no diesel generators during power outages, etc.
no shit sherlock, no one in their right mind would use this solution if they have cable/fiber availableLOL, poor man latency. My ping is usually 3ms on a not so great day, 2 on a great day. My download is 5.5x faster and my upload is >150x faster and costs $50/mon. It is called the benefiting of not living in the boonies.
