My pc doesn't do anything when I push the start button. I tried changing the power supply but that didn't work.

Here are the specs of my pc.

Dell Dimension 4600
Pentium 4 Processor 2.66Ghz
256 MB RAM
40 GB hard drive
Power Supply 250W (thats what it says in DC Output)

Any other suggestions? Any help will be appreciated.

You SURe the power button works? Temporarily disconnectt he power switch from the header on the mobo and just short the power switch pins on the header with a screw driver.

If it fires up, you have a bad power switch. You can replace it, use the reset switch in place of the power switch (if you have one) or configure the mobo in BIOS to use a keyboard funtions key as the power switch (most modern mobos support this).

I see the pins your talking about but which ones do I have to touch with the screwdriver. I tried the ones that correspond to the wires that come into the power switch but that didn't work.

If that's what I was supposed to do, it didn't work. What else could it be the mobo?

The LED lights on the power switch don't light up at all but that LED light on the mobo is green does that mean anything?

Whenever the mobo is plugged in, the Mobo LED comes on.

The header that you are supposed to touch is the two pins that have 'pwrsw' or something that might correspond to power switch on them.
This would rule out the switch on the case as flyingpenguin suggests.

Otherwise, my next bet, if you have tried unplugging everything etc, would be to try a new psu

Ok i did what montag suggested and it didn't work. Then I tried what realx said also but it didn't work. I went and bought a new psu and installed it. Still doesn't work. This is so damn frustrating any more suggestions.

None of those 4 lights are on in the back. Does this mean the mobo is fried? If so, do I have to get one from dell or can I get a better one?

Can you check the fuse in the plug isn't bad - use a new power cable from the back of the computer to the outlet.
Then, if no luck, try a different outlet.

If it's not the PSU or power button, it's the mobo. I'd double check all connections just in case, but you might as well look up your warranty...
