Whenever the receipts are posted, it's always because they're doing something like delivery.
Yup. Those delivery apps pulled an Uber where for a few years delivery was as cheap or maybe even cheaper than going to the restaurant. Now that bill is coming true.

I remember the golden ride share era and the golden delivery era in NYC. I could ride around town for free and get super cheap food delivered. Not at all sustainable but I still enjoyed taking my small share of those VC fucks’ money.

I use them a lot for gas since they're cheaper than the ice houses around me. Also in the summer I practically live off their food court loss leaders like $1.50 hot dogs and $2 slices of pizza when it's too hot to cook in my house. If it's 107 last thing I want to do in turn on my oven when my ACs are having trouble even bringing the indoor temp to 80. Getting a meal for less than $4 at Costco vs spending over $11 at Whataburger adds up pretty quickly.
Hit Costco today, almost a month since I'd been. My line was about as short as it gets, had to wait not 30 seconds for my cashier.

Marching out, pushing my cart, the line for their fast food court was, I swear, 30 yards long. Never seen it like that. It was 2:30PM, Richmond, CA.

They're ordering fast food from DoorDash with its markup, then blaming Joe Biden.

The thing about a lot of these economic surveys or polls is that many people (esp middle class R voters) are saying their household finances are fine/stable/good, but the national economy is in the dumps. And they "trust" Trump will do better.

You nailed it..

I actually got a Big Mac for $2 with coupon in NEW YORK earlier today.

And most of the time I'm very happy with my $1 Kraft Mac& Cheese though I've got a guilty pleasure of throwing in 4 cheese single slices so I guess it's about $2 per box.

Resentment is the result of feeling cheated, getting less than you feel you deserve while also feeling that others are getting more than they deserve and wanting to get even for that so called truth that is just a feeling they carry from being fucked over as children. It is important, in my opinion, to see that resentment is a coping mechanism. People who have been made to feel they are undeserving need to avoid the pain that comes from feeling it's true they are undeserving and the way that they do it is via projection. It's those others that are undeserving. Seeing this will tell you that once that sense of worthlessness has been embedded and denied with massive psychic armor, we no longer seek to bring justice to the world but retribution. The denial of feeling worthless becomes a coping mechanism people don't want to abandon. Better to get even than to heal. Such among us can't be helped directly. They need opportunities to take small steps that bring healthy benefits, I think. These are outwardly shitty people but telling them that will only affirm what they already really do feel.

Looks like we got the Dark Brandon I was hoping for. Great speech Joe, one of your best I'd say in fact. I only have minor quibbles, and some of it wasn't your fault. He dropped facts on people and all Team Treason did was try to blame him for greedflation and their own obstruction of legislation. Just pathetic. Not surprised by the heckling, the repugs are classless pieces of shit let's remember. People need to start tossing cubes of sugar at MTG when she does that, someone should probably halter her too, get a bit in there.

GQP response was hilarious actually, I give it 3/5 Lady Gs.

I swear, I will never get tired of repugs, who tell their own voters to get fucked over overwhelmingly supported Medicaid or abortion rights initiatives, try to say it's Joe Biden who is out of touch with Americans. That's the kind of laughter I need periodically.

November is going to be brutal.
I thought the speech was good as well, also speaker kept grimacing and under table clapping and I also noticed he nodded up and down instead of side to side ALOT more often. I think he didn't realize his body language was giving away alot. Definitely doesn't have a poker face.

Was going to quote others, but my oven just shit the bed 15 minutes ago, so I am not going into early thread stuff, I was on this post when I chose to reply page 14.

I think with Corps, recording record profits, Venture Capitalists buying up as much rental units as possible, Greedflation is still either steady or barely dropping. Depending on where you live. If like me, you have 5 Dollar Generals within 20 minutes of each other and 1 Walmart 45 miles away, and ONE IGA as the other option in the center of town (rural) you feel pinched.

Spend the gas and TIME to goto walmart to get a little better pricing, or get ripped off by Dollar General's pricing itself as a Loss leader (to theft or throwaway) My Sister in Law worked as a manager for the nearest one, worked so many hours it would equal less than minimum wage. Or go to IGA pay about a middle price mostly, and get better food items, DG is better for disposable items. What does one do?
I hate driving or even being inside a Walmart.
I make good money for the area I live in but also have custody of my 2 grandaughters.

Also Trumps Tax cuts in the beginning before the pandemic helped to raise inflation.

Sorry Kage, tried to sum up a bunch of quotes on one reply. TY for reading.

Speaking of Costco and food, I just ate a bowl of baby Bok Choy and Shitake mushrooms I bought there and cooked in Oyster Sauce, chicken bone broth, and sesame oil. It was fun I guess but not really so cheap. Pun intended.

I always go in the cash line. Not only a much shorter line but you also get your food immediately unless you order a full pizza.

Have you ever meet somebody so old they started killing people because they forgot their moral values. And don't point at Trump. His problem is that he never had any.

Only the brain dead themselves would see Biden as senile. The country is overrun with dumb fucks who believe such shit that anybody with eyes can see is ridiculous.

Like a car of almost any kind, I'm not in a position to slap $4k on CC nor do I have that in cash. I could probably swing the monthly payments if my bank would actually finance that low of a loan (not sure if they do?) but that $4k civic inevitably comes with another $2-3k of bills for when shit starts breaking (citation, my current 07 tundra).

All of that of course is aside from the fact if I actually needed to buy a vehicle it'd need to be one that could handle the winters, so probably 4wd something which already throws you above 10k unless you fly to AZ or something to buy one.
I would challenge that a little bit as an owner of two Civics that went to ~200k miles and 170k miles in lake effect snow areas of Michigan and other winters in Penn. If you're in a suburban to urban area (which I would assume given said job) a standard sedan with FWD will do just fine with appropriate tires in all the scenarios you should be on the road. (Exceptions available for those in really mountainous areas like the rockies or Alaska)

Plus those are pretty cheap to fix. It was $40 for a new cluster from a You-pull-it junk yard and approx 4 screws to deal with. Tires reasonable given the size of the diameter. Cheap brakes and rotors etc

Again, a lot of those houses still exist but cost 10-20x as much. And again, that is QOL not COL.
COL is based on median house prices. Humans can live in a tent or mud hut without any utilities, so by your definition it's all quality of life.

One of the posters here is complaining about AC, almost no one in 1950 had home AC, now people in large parts of the country consider that a necessity.

And this was what I was referring to before Dank69 decided to become the tone police. Both sides are yelling past each other. The left should be happy that minimum wages are going up but should be mad that real wage adjusted income has stagnated overall since the 70s. The right wants to be mad because that is what they do.

Some state minimum wages are going up...but the federal minimum wage hasn't moved since 2009...and there's a shit ton of states...mostly red...that use that standard for workers.

I think he was playing for the camera, just like Pelosi did at times and one time in particular. The difference is she had a better reason to perform her slights. I don't have an issue with it honestly, everyone takes advantage of being in the spotlight. I hate that delusional, insurrection lovin, holy roller prick, but at least he kept his mouth shut.

I'd like to see the Sgt at Arms and friends start responding to people like Marge Traitor Green with their speedy removal, regardless of position or office held. The POTUS is making his address. Either offer applause or remain silent, your choice, but you can save the disrespectful spewing of horseshit for your next Fox Noise appearance. First offense gets you a warning, argue and you get kicked out. Second offense lands you in the brig.

Ok, so finally watched the whole thing and not just a highlight reel.

My highly complicated thoughts:

-Shit Joe Biden is old
-But damn, he's not actually demented
-Or sleepy
-Wow this is a bunch of staged political bullshit
-I'm not going to fact check any of this shit later
-SOTU looks like a scene out of Idiocracy (South Carolina REPRESENTIN)
-Wow is Speaker Johnson frowning about defending Ukraine and not massacring Palestinians, that's weird.
-Joe going off script calling them illegals
-Jesus fucking Christ is that what Lindsay Graham looks like when he's laughing?!

That about sums it up.

I endorse that.
Seems about right to me.

In my life, it seems like the American people elect the Democrats to fix things...like the economy. Then, once things are going well, aRepublican comes along, says tbe right things to get elected...things go to shit again...then in 4 or 8 years, the people wlect a Democrat to fix things...and the cycle repeats itself.

I don't disagree entirely with you, but I'm rural. I couldn't get out of my driveway without 4wd most of the winter (this winter being an exception) unless I spent a lot of time ruining my yard by salting the shit out of the front of my house.

Sure sure, unique situation blahblah but plenty of people live near me in identical situations, and enough anecdotes eventually become data points.

But can it be fixed from a revenge tour if he were to cheat his way into power?

Yep. sleepy Joe was too energetic and animated. He MUST be on drugs!

I’ve seen quite a bit of that this morning.
Maybe Joe should use this attack to break out his legal team. Is this actionable or is it Fox News’s 1A right to say on the air Biden is on performance enhancing drugs?

Maybe Biden should give Fox a shot across the bow

^^^^ To be honest, do we know he isn't? Even if legal and under a doctor's direct care? Is it uncommon for an 80 year old in a high pressure job to use something legal?

lol, sure boss. I am not angry just exhausted with the illogical nonsense being spewed. Not sure why trumpies can be “angry” but us normals have to be polite and not push back. Stop spouting lies and nonsense and I won’t have need to be exasperated. Seven years of this crap is done.
I hear you. That why I have a 35 page thread attempting to debunk the existence of CRT in schools. The entire accusation was bullshit. It why did the claim stick so well? Glen Younylon got elected on it.

Why did the accusation of Sharia Law stick so well?

Why did Replacement theory stick so well?

Right wingers seem to excel in spreading lies based on nothing.

I’m angry and exhausted as well these kind of lies are so easy to spread and run over truth.

That shit is horrible for you though. Seriously, can't you buy a big package of boneless skinless chicken breasts and some seasoning and rice and veggies fresh and make meals for yourself? I guess you are saving money because you'll die 5 years sooner eating like that lol. No offense personally.
If it's super hot (San Antonio!), go for the Instant Pot culture. There's a thread here, there seems to be infinite IP culture online. I suppose my 6 qt. standard IP does give off some heat, no doubt, but it's far less than anything coming from my gas stove. A default IP setting is Keep Warm, but I always turn that off when I program my IP. I can come back to it hours after END appears on the display and the contents are close to room temperature. Virtually sterile too, they keep very well in the fridge. Leftovers are a big part of my cooking style. I have cooked rice, beans, other things, routinely in my fridge.

I do not watch Fox News (I don't have access, but probably wouldn't watch it if I did). Even so, I figure accusations of drug use is a can of worms to be complaining about for Dems. Just a thought. AFAIK, they've got nothin' on Joe for this other than OMG he didn't look sleepy to me, maybe be on drugs...
