If you consider yourself a liberal then you should ask yourself why you support policies that cause mass homelessness.

Excuse me?? What're you drunk on?

I never supported any policy that creates homelessness! Unless you're talking about the newly arrived migrants.. then fuck no.. those don't count as homeless in my book.. they're not even Americans or New Yorkers!

If you’re a NIMBY then you are in favor of mass homelessness.

Are you?

While I am late with this factoid, I’ll present it.
Had to stop at a McDonalds tonight. Quarter pounder with cheese value meal (comes with drink & fries) was $12.40 or $12.48 sort of forgot the change amount.
Middlesex County Massachusetts

Don’t ask how it was I didn’t have that.
We’ve been without water in our kitchen for the last month due to a minor upgrade that turned out more minory…sharing kids/fam/microwave meals have kept pace until last night.

First time here in months: Arby’s @ KY exit 117 of I65. Wife got the Kings Hawaiian Brown sugar Bacon sandwich meal. I got 2 crispy fish sandwiches (I don't eat the buns)and a small classic lemonade.

That's quite a broad statement.. like if you use oxygen.. you're the same as a cockroach.

Are you?
It’s an accurate statement. If you would like to explain why if you are against housing construction you aren’t in favor of homelessness I’m happy to hear it.

It’s sad how much people will invent a new reality in order to justify their own selfishness.
I didn't invent it. I gave up thinking I knew anything and there it was. I know all about being intimidated by the fear of loss of ego.

I see my aim as doing what I can to help you see more than you do. But that's all. I have no need for you to see it.

I believe the answer to systemic problems is to change the system, not to tweak it. I have never voted as a NIMBY and always against my own personal selfish financial interest. I believe that the best way for a person to know him or her self is to be in close contact with the natural world we evolved in. I see your solutions as short sighted and shallow. You want to house people but I think what you offer is an empty shell. I don't oppose that. I would like to do better. I believe that free of financial constraints and psychological fears people would love seeing the milky Way at night. I remember taking family far into the desert to see it and them being terrified of leaving the car. God knows what's out there in the dark, I guess.

I'm not here to win. I'm here to discuss things with an open mind.
You are aware that you can tell a bigot but you can't tell them much? I am either telling you something you are psychologically unprepared to see or I am full of bull shit. I am either an arrogant egotist who believes he know what is good for some people better than they do and therefor has the right to control them or not. How do you feel about Republicans who are about to vote to destroy the country? Does your generosity to the will of others extend to them killing you with their insanity? But that's the rules right. They win we bend over and take it. And do you allow a loved one suffering depression take their life in front of you because that's what they want to do? What does your open mind say?

Always been this way..

I know we disagree sometimes since I'm a NIMBY liberal and you're a YIMBY liberal but Moonbeam is just Trump on this forum.. inventing fictional reality in every post.
As it happens, nine out of ten dentists say you are there is something sick about your thinking which means that criticism from you should be taken as complementary. Thank you.

If people want to vote for Adolf's reanimated corpse it is their right to do so. If enough people agree to elect him I have to eat that shit sandwich while rendering whatever aid I am capable of to the resistance. That's how this works. If someone wants to end their own life I think they should be able to with medical help. Maybe they'll be happy in their next life or maybe there is nothing after. Nobody knows but either way their suffering will be over. Maybe they'll suffer more because God is some sort of asshole who punishes people who don't know any better, and then I'll have to join the resistance against him while you bend the knee.

I know a guy who had a similar problem. Kitchen remodel that took far too long. He got one of these, they can handle all basic cooking.

That's how Hitler got elected. I have no control over it. I will never know what i would do if i could prevent that because that occasion will never arise. But honestly, I can't see saying to myself I will do nothing because I an not supposed to decide what is best for other people. In what world would Trump be better than Biden.

You said you wanted to discuss but you changed the subject. I was asking you about a beloved who wanted to take their own life in a state of depression right in front of your eyes, not some physician mediated thingi. I would not let it happen. I was at deaths door myself and something very strange happened. I discovered there is a truth that covers everybody and I knew what it is. Belief is arrogance, what I call knowing requires the loss of belief. You can know and you can believe. For a believer knowing does not exist. All there is in a state of belief is belief. In a state of knowing there is only love. One can't really discuss this with believers. One can only point.

Ouch DIY project?

Anyways me and the wife generally do takeout once every 2-3 weeks or so.

Our favorites:
Chinese food: $8.70
Popeyes spicy chicken breast: $4.13 for 1
Chicken & Rice from stall: $8
McDonalds Big Mac (usually a deal).. $6.60 for 2 (BOGOF deal)
Once in a while slices at New Park Pizza: $4 each
or Dominos $8.70

That's NYC pricing although I have noticed SHRINKflation and the stuff coming in smaller boxes..

Once in a blue moon I will splurge on more expensive stuff. However that doesn't make it taste better.

I answered your questions. I didn't change the subject. Beloved or not it is their choice to make. You just don't like my answers.

Heh heh… yeah found rotted subfloor under the sink cabinet. That pushed the countertop template crew back several weeks.

Chinese takeout is our favorite back up too.

Those are sweet! The wife has been eyeballing one at Ace Hardware for several years. Between my BGE and Weber Grill I don't have any place to put one on the patio though!! Lol

We've been grilling on our covered patio also during the 65 to 75° days.

I didn't get the answer to the question I asked. You answered about someone medically judged to be of sound mind having a right to assisted suicide. I agree with you on that. I don't know where you stand of the question I asked because I don't know what it is. Why would I not like your answered? I am trying to discuss what I think of their validity in my opinion.

A loved one I would try to talk some sense into them and remind them they are loved and will be missed, if it was some temporary state of depression. If it was long term depression then I would have to learn to let them go if that is what they really wanted. Where do you think you are going with this? We're getting way off topic.

I am trying to determine how deeply your dedication to not being your brother's keeper goes. You seem to be determined to defend your non interventionist moral beliefs way past the point where they make sense to me. I don't live by some theory or moral precepts. I quite relaxed about being instinctual it seems to me. I have known what it is like to suffer mental anguish and what it's like to freedom. As I said, from where I stand I know whereas you believe. For me the arrogance is in belief not in knowing. This is the way.

Why is what I think "beliefs" and what you think "knowing"? Why do you think you get to make that judgement call? You know nothing and I know nothing. Start from there.

You say fear is our own creation yet you live in constant fear that you won't have the gun you need when the bogeyman comes. Physician, heal thyself. You died a death but you have many more deaths to die. Have a good night, we can derail another thread another time.

Why is he so worried while not living in a city? Does he really think the city folk are coming for him?
