Buy stock in Schneider Logistics when it goes public. I'm not sure when this will happen, but it will be very soon.

A little background....Schneider National is the nations largest privately held irregular route carrier. In other words, the nations largest Trucking Company that doesn't run a set route. Most of those that run a set route are Union. The likes of Yellow Freight, Roadway, Consolidated Freightways, etc.
They are the trucks you pass on the highway with no sleeper compartment and pulling two or sometimes three trailers. [Some have sleepers, btw, but very few]

A man named Don Schneider and his family own the company. A couple of years ago they started Schneider Logistics.

This company only handles the 'Logistics' of loading, picking up and delivering various commodities and finished goods.

Until recently a company named Ryder was the biggest in the US. Don Schneider has set a goal of becoming the nations largest Logistics Provider!

Everything this man touches turns to gold. He is a living legend in the transportation industry. This is a long term investment, so don't expect it to make you rich.

In my opinion, this is a very solid investment.

I'm certain that this is illegal to post. If you make money off of this, the SEC will be after your arse and you will be sharing it with big burly guy in the slammer.

Not true. The information he's given sounds like something that could have come off of a press release or company website. So long as it's publicly available, he's done nothing wrong.

What if I told you I work for a company that has been growing at an unprecidented rate? I could blow sunshine up your a$$ about it all day, and tell you why it's such a good investment, and I would not be breaking any law.

Let's suppose this company was going public in the next few weeks, and I gave you a heads up on the date. That would be illegal. Same goes for an already public company that's about to announce a merger or aquisition, but has not made that information public.

Quite the arrogant SOB, aren't you? Telling Tom & reitz to go jack off is not a really good way to gain credibility & support around here. Frankly nobody gives a flying four letter word for copulation about you or your opinion, so crawl back down the hole you came from & leave us the hell alone.

And don't mess with me tonight, I'm in a crappy mood.

Xzaver This was announced in an Employee mailing and verified in business meetings just last week. I did not go to the meeting, although there were quite a few scheduled, but heard of the duscussion from a fellow driver that did.

I'm not sure of the symbol yet, and I most definitely put $10,000 on it...if I had it

This is a funny post. Not only is this stupid, but it is illegal. I invest in stocks, and would not invest in some logistics stock. Personally, i think this will be a long term investment to bankruptcy. In my opinion, this is a bad investment, and people would not listen to this.

Amazing that you can deduce all that without being a Lawyer. :Q

Schneider is the biggest company of it's kind in the US. It has holdings in Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Western Europe. As in the US, in Canada they are the largest Company of it's kind there.

They have shown a profit every year since being in business.

With revenues of 3 billion dollars a year, this is no fly-by-night company.

I'm not saying anyone should invest, but to make a statement without researching the company and it's history is just something I have to question.

http://www.Schneider.com

Oh, until recently, the Schneider Family owned the bulk of Wisconsin's phone network! When you dialed, you'd get "Thanks for using Schneider". Ask anyone from Wisconsin about Schneider.
They decided to sell their communications holdings, at a huge profit I might add, and concentrate on Transportation.

IN THE NEWS
Schneider Acquires Tranzact's Freight Payment Services

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- (March 16, 2000) -- Schneider Logistics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Schneider National, Inc., has purchased the freight payment services of Tranzact Systems, Ltd., a freight payment business that processes more than $4 billion in payments annually, it was announced today.

With revenues of $3 billion, Schneider National is North America?s largest truckload transportation and logistics company. Terms were not disclosed.

With the purchase, Schneider becomes the first in the logistics industry to create a stand-alone freight payment business unit, and as such, allow customers to purchase freight payment and audit as a separate service.

"The business combination of these two strong and healthy companies will create the leading freight payment company in the industry," said Rodger Mullen, vice president of logistics for Schneider.

"This acquisition is consistent with our strategy to explode the growth of our non-asset business," said Chris Lofgren, chief information and logistics officer for Schneider. "We are committed to growing the freight payment business and creating value for our customers through the innovative use of technology, information and process reengineering."

The move expands Schneider's portfolio of logistics products and services, already the largest in the industry. It also represents a significant enhancement to Schneider's ability to manage its customers' "back office" functions relative to moving freight.

"This transaction will allow both Schneider and Tranzact Technologies to focus on providing solution-oriented technologies to a rapidly changing marketplace," said Michael Regan, chief executive officer for Tranzact Technologies. "This is a great transaction for both our customers and associates."

Regan added that Tranzact's remaining businesses, Tranzact Technologies and Freedom Logistics, which are not part of this transaction, will continue to concentrate on Freedom and Internet based software applications.

Tranzact Payment Services has approximately 300 employees. It will maintain its operations in Homewood and Sugar Grove, Ill., and operate as a stand-alone company.

"We are committed to retaining the current Tranzact employees and customers, and we believe they will benefit from the leadership strength and core competencies of the new company," Mullen said.

About Schneider:

Do you suppose if you conducted insider trading and LOST tons of dough, would the SEC investigate you then?

Although, as I said, I wasn't at the meetings I think the aquisition of Tranzact's Freight Payment Services is a seperate transaction.

Schneider has always been a privately held company. Schneider Logistics was a part of Schneider National at the time of that aquisition.

Schneider sent information out on it's entire 15,000+ terminals as a message a week ago Friday. The 14th. It said that Schneider Logistics would split from Schneider National and would go public. I'm sure there is some sort of timetable, but I'm unaware of it. Then on Thursday of this week I talked to another driver that had attended the 'Business Meeting.' He said that employees of Schneider would get first chance to buy stock in the spin-off company.

That does contain lots of background about the company, and should help anyone wanting information on the stability of the company....

Hmmm, a rather loud rap on my front door....wonder why they didn't ring the doorbell....peaking through the blinds....interesting....two rather well dressed men.....Suits, thin ties, no facial hair, dark glasses.....OH CHRIST....a buldge under the left arm!....some kind of ID badge on their coat pocket.....I'll be right back!....maybe....

<< Oh, until recently, the Schneider Family owned the bulk of Wisconsin's phone network! >>

Well, as someone from WI, and as someone who worked in WI for a competing carrier (who shall remain nameless because I can't say anything nice about them...), that's not quite true.

Schneider Communications was an LD carrier in WI. I don't know how much if ANY actual network was actually owned by Schnedier Comm. My guess would be it wasn't. They probably leased capacity from Norlight, among others of the day (LDDS, WilTel, MCI, GTE, etc). I know they were a large Norlight customer. Norlight actually owns fiber, and LOTS of it! Norlight is owned by the Journal Sentinel company.

I can't remember if Schneider Comm. provided service in any neighboring states. Anyways, at their peak they were the largest LD provider in the state. Yes, larger than AT&T, MCI, Sprint, et al. They were quite a machine. They only sold their products direct. They never "whored" out their sales to agencies.

Their customer base was EXTREMELY loyal. They were like the Harley Davidson of LD companies in this state. They didn't really sell to the residential market, but focused their sales and marketing on the business sector.

Their sales force was well trained an knowledgeable. They provided great service, and their pricing was competitive. They had a 6-ESS in the 411 building in Milwaukee (one of two buildings where TelCo people tend to co-loc facilities, the other being the Wells building at 324 E. Wisconsin Ave). This is a HUGE switch with lots of cool features. It represented a tidy investment for the company.

Schneider Communications was sold to Frontier in 1996 (I think). If I remember correctly the sale was something like $110 million. Not bad for a guy who decided to resell extra switch capacity after the MFJ.

Don't kid yourself about the actual phone network in WI. It's owned by the ILECS (Incumbent Local Exchnage Carriers). Mostly Ameriwreck (oops I mean Ameritech) in our case, though there are approximately 90 some odd ILECs in WI. The biggies being Ameriwreck and GTE.

Maybe I should've said they owned the bulk of the customers in WI.

You know the communications industry better than myself. The companies are so intertwined it's hard to actually seperate the equipment involved.

I remember you posting a couple years ago in a similar post saying the same thing.

Thanks. I just like precision is all and wanted to make clear what they had actualluy done. Not to take away from their achievment. I always thought very highly of Schneider Comm.

Wasn't it you who posted the factoid about the size of Schneider National's computer network?
