I've been having some trouble with upgrading my motherboard. Receiving the topic's stop code at every attempt.
Using my old motherboard (945P chipset) I uninstalled all current drivers and disk controllers in hopes I could transfer windows without a reinstall. Then I swapped the motherboard and mounted my new mobo (p35-ds3). Upon POST I receive a BSoD with the stop code. From there I loaded up Knoppix and formatted, then erased the partition table which I had hoped would remove any software that might be conflicting with the new disk controller. I boot again and entered into windows setup. Drivers loaded fine, then once Windows loaded (read WindowsDOS) another BSoD before I could even see any drives on the computer. Using Knoppix again I loaded sata drivers off the DS3's driver disc and then pressed F6 during windows setup. However this yielded the same result. Before crying uncle I remove a single DIMM and repeat the procedure with the sata drivers and again BSoD. Swapping back to the old mobo to check if the disk has gone bad I find that the old mobo still has no problem with i/o on the drive.
I've also attempted to swap the hard drive, disconnecting my usual system drive and trying to load XP install on the 500gb drive witht he same error.
This is my second p35-ds3, The last one I used had an electrical defect and wouldn't recognize a processor if the 12v aux powerwas plugged in. I'm simply hoping that this is not a second defective board in a row.

Seagate 180gb sata (system drive)
Samsung 500gb sata (storage drive, disconnected at all times during XP install attempts)
