Strange Issue with internet/browser

Hi

Did a reformat of Win 8 yesterday, installed all updates, programs etc..

Installed Firefox 28, as I don’t like the interface of FF29, at this point everything running fine.

Switched the pc on today, started FF , FF29 start up, I realise I forgot to change the setting in FF, to not install updates.

I used FF29 for say 30mins (everything still fine), then I uninstall FF29, and reinstall FF28 again.

Started up FF28 and now for some reason websites take up to 30 sec to 1 min to fully load up. I cleared the cache, reset FF to default state, but
I was just as sluggish to load pages.

I uninstalled and reinstalled FF28, but just as slow as before. I then downloaded Pale Moon 24.5 and tried that, that was just as sluggish as FF.

So I uninstalled PM, opened FF28 and Let it update to FF29, clicked to allow FF to restart to make changes, now everything is fine, websites load up in about 1 sec.


So, everything is great now, but I would still like to know what caused this

Firewall – McAfee
Internet - Ethernet

So creating a new profile in FF28/PM doesn't fix it eh? Maybe an addon/extension upgraded to 29 with it? AV messing things up is pretty common too.
