Strange Problem Installing Software in W2K

Hi guys,

I'm having such a strange problem when I tried to install some software in W2K. First of all I have 3 window partition of W2K. The 3rd partition is the one I'm having problem with. When I tried to install Daemon Tools, MS Publisher & MSXML, the software seems to install fine, but at the last minute, it would rollback & uninstall everything again. This really boggles my mind, coz I can install those software on the other partition just fine. Any idea what's wrong? Thanks!

Have you tried running a disk check and defragmentation on that partition?

You may want to try backing up all the stuff off it and reformatting it, (you using NTFS for all 3 partitions?).

No I haven't tried running disk check & defrag on it, will try it.

Well, I don't want to format if possible, hopefully that would be last resort. and yeah I'm using all NTFS
