Stray Villa Cat problem

So there's this annoyingly fearless seemingly indomitable muscular young cat that up to a few days ago, I had no idea was going to be a big problem for me. I have limited cat food to share so I try to give to the ones I like. Prime among them is a limping cat and it's really pitiful and its fur is always in kind of a disarray. I feel sorry for it. Second one is a young quiet cat that gets excited on seeing me and follows me around wherever I go. Third one is a cat I previously liked but now it's relegated to only having chicken bones when I have them. It can't and won't receive anymore cat food from me because it violated a simple principle: do not attack kittens. It also used to make a lot of ruckus every time it saw me, like FEED ME FEED ME! Fourth one is the awful muscular cat.

When I'm feeding them, usually I will shoo away the other cats and it works. The limping cat gets first dibs and the young quiet cat may also join, depending on the limping cat's mood. Everyone else I shoo away. Well, few days ago, this muscular cat took a stand against me which was very weird because it had never done that before. Then I tried to move it away with my shoe and it refused to budge. So I applied more force and literally had to drag it away. It came back. Now I got angry. So I gave it a few light kicks, just enough to make them uncomfortable for it. That made it move away but it started snarling at me in the nastiest possible way and sat down, looking from afar to find its chance to eat the food. This forced me to stay and guard the weak cats until they had eaten the food. Yesterday, the bones meant for the other stupid cat were devoured by this muscular cat when I went away for a minute to dispose of the trash. Now I'm furious. It is time to take definitive action. I will prepare some freezing water and shock the bastard. Suggestions, advice, better ideas?

I'm curious if anyone here has faced such an issue.

I have no one else to feed

Don't want to deal with the crap of owning a pet. Prefer not to take on responsibility of someone's life.

So... Stop feeding strays for one. Either adopt them, or don't, you're creating an unhealthy and unnatural dynamic. Second, don't kick cats. Third, if that limpy one is actually injured, get it to a vet. Fourth, unless that's raw chicken, do not, ever, under any circumstances, feed any kind of cooked bird bone to anything. You will kill the animal eventually.

Now that the safety briefing is out of the way... you're trying to dictate what a (likely) alpha male cat does. Despite the common knowledge that cats are solitary, don't form groups, etc, it's bunk when it comes to reality. There's a hierarchy there and you're interfering with it. You either interfere all the way (manual separation, feed all of them separately, physically remove the alpha and get ripped to shit, etc) or you don't at all and let them sort it out.

If you want to encourage nicer behavior, try planting some catnip plants in the area, and provide appropriate amounts of food/water. You can 'adopt' them as outdoor cats, though you really should get them seen to if you're going to do that. Neuter, shots, etc.

I don't kick it for real. If I kicked a football like that, it would be called dribbling. If it WERE a real kick, I probably wouldn't have to go to the trouble of trying to spray water on that cat.
You don't think you kicked it but as far as the cat is concerned, you did. It establishes a negative physical relationship with you, with other cats while around you, and as a method of conflict resolution with other animals. Aggression around domesticated animals breeds further aggression.

Next time just coerce it with another plate, or stop interacting with them altogether.

What do you think they find in the trash bins?

Only two of the cats eat the bones, cat 3 and 4. I swear these modern cats are dumb. They don't even know what food looks like and they are totally useless hunters. They can be very picky too. The only thing they will consistently love is wet fish based food. Sometimes the dry food is right in front of them and they will move around it, searching, like they can't see things right in front of their eyes. Eventually, they will figure out it's food, probably by sniffing it. I thought they had enough brains to at least recognize from past experience what cat food looks like.

Put out the dry kibble. If they're hungry, they'll eat it...or move on to better pickings.

Funny. The bastard cat wasn't so combative today so it escaped my punishment. I moved it away from the feeding area with my foot. It resisted a bit but then sat down and waited for me to leave. The other cats had their fill and then I left. Before closing the front door, I saw it get up and make a beeline for the leftover food. Fine by me. Now if it learns to behave like this every day, I have no problem.

Mr. Limpy

It looks distressed but that's actually how it looks ALL the time. An expression saying, "Oh no! Who turned me into a cat?? I had so much to do in my lab before everything blacked out and now I'm stuck licking food off the ground!".

What I've noticed is that they have their own ways of "organizing" things.

If you put enough food out for everyone, all that happens is that they queue up. Well, not right away, but they'll fall into a pattern.

Telling a cat it can't have something, especially if it's tasty, is a losing battle.

To them, they're all competitors - until they're not. Yes, it will be a bit more money, but it will solve your problem.

Also, getting upset serves absolutely no purpose. The cats don't really understand your intentions, and probably would have much to say for them if they did.

They're cats. That's the beginning, middle and end.

@igor_kavinski - One more thing - male ferals can be extremely territorial. But once they've fixed, they can be quite darling and actually look after the other cats. But until he's fixed, he's likely to be a problem.
