Assuming you got it on the PS3, wasn't the install optional? You should've set it up to install when you eventually took a break.

Please tell me this game is worth the hype. Doesn't seem like many games have met or exceeded the hype in a while. It's impossible to trust reviews on the net anymore.

My PSN account is "spicyclubsauce." I'm good for SFIV or SSF2THDR.

This is OT, but please tell me that name is from AD?

Of course it is. I mean COME ON!

You mean the guy we're meeting with can't even grow his own hair? Come on!

60FPS.

LETS DO THIS!

Nice. I won't feel so bad when you kick my ass online now that I know you could do it in real life, too.

Don't let the arms fool you. Anybody who thinks it's a solid idea to post that picture probably doesn't know how to fight with anything more than buttons.

Haha, I actually respect purbeast more now that he posted that pic of himself with the Ryu bandana on.

I respect him for a number of reasons (don't tell him about it), but that isn't one of them.

Woo... I got the game as well! Playing on the 360 controller is pure crap though, I can't wait to use my TE stick later this weekend.

I would love to play a few matches against somebody with a stick to see how bad I am with the controller. It's possible I may pick up one of the SF4 madcatz controllers if I find one sometime soon. I was reading over at Neogaf where some people are using their Saturn pads on the PS3 with no problems. I've got an old Saturn sitting in the closet, sucks I can't use one of the controllers on the 360.

I'm not sure if there are any adapters for the Saturn console controllers or not, but there actually Saturn USB controllers for the PC that work perfectly on the PS3. I picked one up from eBay (search for Saturn USB) 3 or 4 weeks ago for $20. I just checked now though and it appears the prices have gone up a bit, likley due to the launch of SFIV.

Ahhh, OK, I didn't know there was a difference. I guess had I thought about it hard enough, original Saturn controllers using USB would've been a little bit of a stretch.

This is actually blurredvision, I had my name changed today actually, so we're already on each other's friends list. I had my username changed here and on Live. I put in my sig that I had changed my name since I'm fairly regular around the console board, but I know some people have sigs disabled.

Thanks for the fun, clean matches bl4ckfl4g. We put in about what, 15 matches over 45 minutes? I'm definitely going to learn a new character besides what little I know for Ryu/Ken and Chun Li. I really liked Sakura and was able to pick her up pretty easily, but that's due to her moveset being very similar to Ryu/Ken. Her shoryuken will take a bit to get used to, though, since she does a little run before going up in the air. There were quite a few times where you'd do a short jump/lunge attack, and I would start her Shoryuken, and I'd basically run under you while you jumped over top. I also enjoyed our fireball showdowns in that last match with Ryu . I held my own with the 360 d-pad.

c/p from another forum, it took me almost 2 hours to beat seth (with crimson.viper)
i raped him hard with ryu, so i think anyone w/o a projectile attack is in for a treat.

Seriously, this is ******* ridiculous.

I hadn't thought too much of the complaining about him because people tend to overreact about new bosses in fighting games (I remember the talk of how cheap DOA4's boss is and yet after just a little practice she became easy to deal with). After spending an hour just to beat him ONE ROUND I can safely say he is easily the cheapest boss I have gone against besides the witch chick in Guilty Gear X 2 who had that move that basically insta-killed you...

Seths character isn't overpowered per-say but his AI even in easiest is just beyond ridiculous. You can actually learn the programming of the AI just by watching how he reacts to you. You see, Seths AI is actually programmed to react based on your input. At one point I watched him attack every single time I stopped moving backwards.

I originally thought focus attacks would be really useful but they aren't. Try charging one up and he immediately grabs you. The only things I found effective against him are grabs of your own (which mind you is a dangerous tactic seeing as anything he does seems to trump you) and landing dash attacks on him.

I thought T-Hawks priority was ridiculous in HDRemix but Seth takes it to a WHOLE new level.

Quite honestly anything Seth does beats anything you do. Go for an ultra move and he will actually attack you while you're in the middle of your ultra. he will grab you while your fist/foot is in his face, and alot of times he will grab you a fraction of a second after you go to grab.

On top of all this, I actually watched him spam sonic booms at me to the point where I watched half my health go just blocking (I was trying a completely defensive strategy at that point).

I have no clue how you are suppossed to avoid his ultra. I think there might be a way but I haven't found it yet.

Probably his worst cheese is his teleport. This mother ****** will actually telport behind you and imediately grab you. Not only does his teleporting give him cheap hits, but it is made harder to counter by the fact that he randomly teleports in front of AND behind you and anytime he goes behind you it completely ruins any drectional input you had in for a counter-attack.

But yeah, I just figured I should warn/advise people here on the BS to expect with Seth. Prepare to basically depend on luck because I could consitently kick his ass yet he always pulled miracle comebacks...
