gg's tonight bl4ckfl4g. my damn mic's batteries were dead so i had no mic, but it's charging now and next time i will have it so we can chat while we play.
man that gouken guy is pretty badass, i really want to get good with him!
I thought he was a joke cuz I've easily beat anyone that ever used him and I never tried him but you destroyed me. Your Boxer and Akuma are sick. I only play Sagat. I need to expand but I'm not even good with him.
I feel stuck like I'm not getting better now. I beat the scrubby scrubs but can't beat actual good players and I feel I'm not getting better.
Got my stick parts tonight. I tried an octogonal and I don't like it. I have to remove it tomorrow. I like the bat top though cuz I have big hands and it is taller. The buttons of course are way better.
yah i have never really used gouken but he's just so badass with his counters tht it makes me want to use him. i had read you could use his counter moves on ultra's, so that is why I tried it against you when you did one of em (cant remember who you were) and it actually worked! i was like woah!
i'm trying to get real good with balrog and i think i've improved pretty well with him. i honestly hadn't used akuma in like a week or so but he used to be my #1, but i find myself winning more with balrog than i used to with akuma. i was surprised i was timing those combos with akuma though, i usually have some trouble juggling the weak hurricane kick with the shoryuken, but i was nailing it almost every time heh.
you are not bad with sagat though. the one thing i noticed though is that you play really defensive. that may be why you feel as though you are stuck at your skills. you should try to work on attacking more instead of counter attacking.
this game is just as much about mind games as it is about blatant attacking, and with the defensive stance you can't really trick your opponents into seting themselves up like you can when you are attacking. that can be done with mind games.
a simple but somewhat "cheesy" example is the tick throw. all you have to do is jump in with fierce kick then crouch jab a few times. probably your opponent will block this if you do it when you are both standing around. however, that sets you up for the next time, and after you jump kick, do 1 low jab, then walk in for the throw.
since they are expecting you to keep mashing the jab button you can catch them off guard and land a throw.
again, that is a simple mind game, but effective. those are the kinds of mind games you gotta start trying. i try to play a few with Balrog and his overhead dash punch. you just gotta throw out a few low ones then you can catch them with the overhead one.
