no point paying 200 for that
i just bought the HRAP3 for 89 from amazon
and 6 sanwa buttons + octagonal plate for 29 shipped. i wish they had a circular plate.
so for 118, you are getting the tournament stick that's sold out everywhere for 20 less than the shopcapcom deal, but you don't have the cool graphics
Where do you buy Sanway/Seimetsu buttons from? What are the plates for? Is it for decoration or does it determine where the joystick can move (ie 360 circle or locked into specific directions/grooves)? Sorry for the beginner questions.
lizardlick, they shipped pretty quick also, i paid friday, received it wednesday, they are in NC.
the stock gate on the hrap3 is square, i HATED the square gate @ the arcades and preferred the circular ones, much easier to do moves imo. the closest they had was the octagonal plate, so that should help somewhat compared to a square gate.
excellent packing also for the buttons hehe, just waiting for my hrap3 to arrive tomorrow so i can mod it and test it out

just a heads up for anyone building a joystick for the Xbox360 ...
i had built one before and was going to wire a Cthulhu board into my 360 joystick as well to make it work on PS3 and Xbox360 at the same time (with a switch), then I found out that my 360 PCB that i was using did not have a common ground and would not work with the Cthulhu. so i went on the prowl for one that will.
and i found this one...
http://www.gamestop.com/Catalo...8.C10o.hCnwhOjix_hYWWA.
it's $10 at gamestop and all the gamestops (around me) had them in stock still, and they even come w/3 XBLA games lole (although it says the redemption code expired in 08, but i haven't tried them yet).
here is a diagram of the insides of the controller too and it looks like all points are easy access.

i'd think PS3 would.
everyone on xbox360 will THINK they are good, but the true competitors will be on PS3 i think.

I would think that the true competitors would buy/make a joystick and go 360, just because online play works so much better

see that is where i disagree from my experiences ...
on the fighting games i've played, i get less lag on PS3.
xbl is p2p, whereas psn is on a server, so i think in fighters it makes the difference.
i've played SF2 and SF:AC on xbox live, and I've played MK2, Tekken 5, and SSF2THDR on PS3, and I've noticed significantly LESS lag on PSN.

That looks pretty awesome for my uses. Might have to pick one of those up now and start ordering sticks and buttons. What would be your (or anyones) recommendation for a pre built case? I wouldn't need any graphics or anything, just a decent box with button and joystick holes.

If you're willing to "camp" out so to speak, you can try NAS on Sunday when they restock some cases for sale. I'm having a case built by Finkle over at Shoryuken, but it'll be a number of months before I get it.

i dunno, not sure how it works.
i know with hot shots golf 5, in the US it's called "hot shots golf" and in europe it's called "everybody golf" and in japan it's called "minna no golf".
however the US and european people all play on the same servers, but the japanese have their own servers.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to play against people in Japan. If I recall correctly they did a test where someone in the US played against someone in Japan and it was "lag free"
