Here is a little progress pic of what i did today. i actually put in all new buttons and a new joystick, which ended up being 100x more of a pain than i expected, as I had to COMPLETELY take my case apart heh.

http://i42.tinypic.com/2zqef04.jpg

the 2 pcb's aren't mounted yet but that is where they will be lying down.

i'll post pics and how ti actually works once i'm done.

No shit! I feel like throwing my gamepad through the TV I get so frustrated with lag and disconnects on the PSN, mainly disconnects. :| When I try to start a match it says, you were disconnected from the PSN. WTF? I try to challenge someone else, same thing. :| Man does that piss me off. Same thing with the tournament. I usually get disconnected before I can finish one. My friend has the same problem.

Only thing left is i have some wood putty that i'm goign to use to fill in the spaces around the switch. then i'm goign to paint it, sand it, then put an xbox360 sticker on one side and a ps3 sticker on the other side and it'll be completed

i haven't used it yet, just tested it to be sure everything works, and so far so good. I'll let you all know how it plays though.

Nice man. I think I'm going to mod my SF4 TE stick with a cthulhu so I can play it on PS3 since that is what evo is using.

Sure I can run down exactly what I have in mine.

- Street Fighter Anniversary Collection joystick (the casing)
- 1 Happ Competition 8 way joystick
- 6 Happ convex buttons
- 2 Happy button plugs
- 1 Mad Catz Xbox Arcade Joystick (comes with 3 XBLA games)
- 1 Cthulhu PCB
- 1 DPDT switch
- 1 12way terminal
(the 2 start/select buttons are the ones that came w/the original joystick)

Then the tools/stuff I used ...

- Soldering Iron
- Solder
- Flux
- A lot of 22awg wire (probably coulda used larger # awg but couldn't find any)
- Hot glue gun
- Heat shrink
- Screws/nails (used to secure the PCB's to the wood)
- Scissors
- A LOT OF TIME AND PATIENCE!

Okay I think that is literally everything I used when putting it together heh. I bought the joystick, buttons, and cthulhu from Lizard Lick.. I got the mad catz controller from Gamestop but had to go in store as theyd on't sell em online, but every store in a 1 mile radius of me had em in stock. Then I got the other stuff at radio shack and the hardware store.

I'm going to actually make a detailed wire diagram of exactly what I did (probably today) because I had to mix/match like 3 tutorials/diagrams to do what i wanted to do, and I figure having 1 diagram that tells you how to do 2 controllers to a switch will make life simpler for others.

Such a detailed tutorial would be awesome! I'm still debating whether or not to add a 360 PCB to mine as all the games I'd play with it are all on the PS3, but would be nice if I ever have to take it around. I'm not that great at soldering though.. so just going Cthulhu only is very appealing to me for that reason.

if you go that route make sure to buy the prebuilt one. i just got the kit which was $20 cheaper and i built it myself. i didn't need the terminals or the USB for my project so I figured i'd save $20 and build it myself. was pretty painless.

I respect all the work you guys are putting into making your own sticks, especially before the game is released. Wish I had the want to do it.

yeah I think I'd rather just fork out the money or the tournament edition one or buy a decent one.

I'm looking at the hori ex for the 360. maybe switch plates and knob. or just keep it as it is.

I know Cthulhu doesn't work with 360 but you can if you somehow add a 360 controller PCB. I don't understand how this is possible. Does the Cthulhu have some sort of "plug a 360 controller into me" port or something?

No but we do have a possibility of a 'purbeast0 is a badass wiring diagram' if/when he writes one up

Already got the pre-built Cthulhu. I have all my parts.. just waiting on a case. Finkle said he'd begin working on it today/tomorrow. Wooo.

Norris Arcade Sticks restocked yesterday morning and promptly sold out while I was putting in my billing information. So fucking frustrating.

I almost pulled the trigger on one of the Walnut ones. I never even saw the Purpleheart one or I definitely would have tried to get it.

Does anyone know if there is a downloadable template for the joystick hole? The others are just circles right? I am not handy but I am thinking that's the only hard part about getting one built custom.

well let me just say i've gotten my hands on this game, and there is one REALLY REALLY disappointing thing missing from it as of right now ...

there is no "quarter match" type room on xbox live. it's strictly 1v1 rooms only.

i don't have the ps3 version yet but plan on getting it as soon as i have the opportunity, and i really REALLY hope that they put a day 1 patch in or something on the xbox live mode, or they have this for the PS3 online mode.

Weren't they adding something to the online component on day 1?
