but still, it's a joke. this doesn't happen on PS3 either. you finish a match, go to quick match, see 3 guys (and it will even show the bars for the players most of the time, won't just be blinking), and pick one and 9/10 times it works fine. xbox360 is the exact opposite, 9-10 times it WONT work.

I dunno, I had horrible luck with quick match on the ps3.. sounds nearly how you describe the xbox.. either blinking or 0-2 bars... the first three or four people I'd pick would say "unable to join" or whatever it says.. I haven't really bothered to try quick match since I saw how much better leaving request on works. Typically, in the span of a single round I'll be pretty much guaranteed a fight and more often than not it's with a decent connection. Plus, I get to be first player and I get to pick the training stage if I want

So far, I've managed to complete the 1st round ONCE without being interrupted by a new challenger.

I kind of like it. I had a "wtf?" moment when I first heard it, but it's kind of grown on me.

Get used to it, as it plays in every fucking screen. Also that's what's 'hip' in Japan which is the focus of this game, so everybody else can suck it apparently.

had a bunch of good matches tonight. my balrog is really starting to get better too

i went from 1450bp to a little over 2000bp in like 10 matches or so.

i also faced this one guy who had 7000bp points. and i almost beat his ass too. he won the first round then i won the second, then on the last one i had him juggled in the air but missed with getting my ultra off for a juggle and he ended up finishing me off

he was pretty lame though talking trash into his mic on the TV the whole time. at least i only lost 1BP poitn lol.

then later on i got into some great player matches w/this one guy who was pretty good with rufus, which i had not seen any of so far. i ended up taking 9/11 matches though with balrog and dhalsim.

this game is like crack

Balrog is a SHOTO devourer. Straight up, a decent Balrog ROCKS my Ryu consistently - I try to rush them down way too much. I gotta poke them with crouching medium to fireballs more often and make them waste their charges.

Dhalsim teleport > ALL

I'm quite partial to Seth for teleport, but being able to do it midair w/ Dhalsim is badass. It's a mindfuck for some folks too when they see Dhalsim floating through the air towards them, then they let a dragon punch (or w/e) loose and he's gone and now behind them ready to prison gape them.

If you have the game for the PS3, you can set up a custom playlist and/or play whatever music you like, providing you have it downloaded to your PS3.

I assume the 360 has a similar feature, but I don't know for sure.

Imo Balrog is like the 2nd best of the cast (behind Sagat) his jab is god. I was mesing with him the other day and need to give him more play time.

yea his crouching jab is awesome. it has knocked away potential throwers countless number of times because it is so quick and it's easy to chain.

on the throwing note ...

i was one of the sf2 people who thought throwing was always cheap and hated throwing. however in sf4, i'm starting to throw more and more. i have noticed while doing this i also tend to not get thrown as much, because of the techs that i am getting now.

I would definitely be down with a tourney on either console.

If we do one though, please, let's not just do 1 match. Make it like best of 5 or something.

Cause I hate when I play ranked against someone and have a close match that could have gone either way (usually i only hate when i lose, obviously heh) and can't play them again.

I played my first online match last night, a Player match. I picked Sagat and he picked Zangief. Pretty close, but I won with a sliver of life left in the last round!

I still can't do Sagat's Fake Kick for the challenge.

I'm finding the 360 controller to be pretty decent, except doing supers with the D-pad is very difficult. I can do them easier with the analog stick, but then I find the other moves more difficult to do using the analog stick. :\

for the fake kick, just map two buttons to high kick and jam on them as fast as you can

May I ask..how is the fighting style compared to third strike? when i hear a mix of SF2/SF3 leaning towards SF3....I'm actually not at all clear of what it is like. I don't have a lot of experience with SF2/SF3 at all....is it anything like third Strike? If it is....oh man I'm totally in xD

I'm not sure how I stand. For online ranked matches, I prefer best-of-five because that's your only shot at the guy. But for player matches that go on indefinitely or in a tournament where you have to win 2 (or 3) matches anyway, I kinda prefer best-of-3.

Not that I'm getting in on this since I'm on PS3. Just some thoughts.
