GGs the other day Gorcorps. I think you are definitely getting better an I'm getting worse. I'm still pretty good with Sagat but I haven't been playing Rufus lately. So I'm sucking with him.

I can't fight against Blanka lol I always lose. haha

You still rock me with sagat pretty bad, but yeah... Your rufus needs work

I've switched my main from balrog to blanka mainly because nobody seems to know how to fight him at this level. He's quick and his EX moves go right through fireballs which catch many by surprise.

I can't stand the "elf" nickname. I've never heard "slim" only "sim". My xbl is ohmygod6662000 if anyone wants to play.

Who's redalert1? I've played against him a couple of times on LIVE and he's not bad. I had no problem beating him with my Ryu, but my Abel sucks. I played Abel repeatedly trying to figure out what to do specifically since majority of the time he kept turtling.

I just got this game from Best Buy. I've seen it played before but nothing beats it on my 34" CRT TV.

ewww

Far from it. It's a 34" widescreen HDTV. The colors are far brighter than any other tv out there. Combined that with my surround sound system and it reminds me of the arcade systems of yesteryear. I know a lot of you'll grew up on LCDs, plasmas, and DLP, but there's nothing that beats a CRT when it comes to gaming.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm a SF whore. So, naturally, I'm comfortable with Ken and Ryu. Too bad Guile isn't immediately available. The moves are easy to perform but the PS3 controller hurts my hand after a while. Thank God for my Hori.

think that was me you played.

Working on my offense. I have virtually none since I'm used to wearing people down slowly. I need to play your Ryu more since a strong Ryu usually prances all over me.

Anyone else on live who wants to play can add me too. I'm on west coast though and I mainly use Sagat so be forewarned if you hate projectiles.

so is this game really, really, like...super really worth it? I haven't purchased a game, let alone a console game, in maybe 1 year+

I used to be the super grandmaster of SF2 back on SNES (turbo and original; me + Ryu = you my bitch ).

If I pick this up on PS3, will I be able to wail on some ATers online?

well you won't learn much or get better playing the computer.

also, since you had never played against elf, that is probably a big reason why he beat you bad. you had no clue what to expect.

after over 2000 matches, that still happens to me. i faced a Rose last night and i had no clue what she was going to do and she pretty much mopped the floor with me. out of those 2k matches, i'd be surprised if i've faced more than 10 Roses.

its more of a causal pick up and play game. just grab the ps3 controller and play a couple online matches and be done. i tried reading up to get some tips. but doesnt seem to work. i still had fun.

oh ok.

a quick way to get some pointers is to watch some replays of some of the characters you like from people who are higher on the leaderboards. but at the same time, there are some videos of players up there that don't deserve to be that high on the leaderboards heh.

Unless you get your hand on a joystick you won't be wailing on much

Yup. Good suggestion here. I don't play Guile at all but I played a Guile yesterday versus Abel and he did something that I think I'll be using myself. He would sonic boom, then if you jumped over he would dn+HP as anti-air. Lather, rinse, repeat.

You should check out championship mode. The players are definitely a lot better there, especially those in the G2 range. Using Abel, I have issues with Charge characters mostly. Blanka, Guile, Chun-Li kick my ass majority of the time.

However, I'm on srk.com and am studying the various ways others play as Abel, so hopefully I pick up something good from studying their videos and reading their comments on the forum.

i have a question and this thread is way to large to comb through.

is there a way to save button configs?
i mean, they have to be expecting that people will have friends over and every has their own button layouts. each time someone hands off the controller after a loss, we spend 2 minutes configuring out controllers again. such BS.

if they don't have this feature, i can't believe they have not thought of something so basic and obvious.

I don't think there is a way currently. One way is to sign in and out of gamer profiles every match...lol

I finally got a chance to upload an epic replay from my championship mode victory last night

Text if anyone's interested.
