<< Well what did your mom put on there? Liquid polish? Penny Shoe Shine? Mink Oil?
Buff it out!
>>

I don't know. Its some clear liquid in a plastic bottle with no label on it. She put some on a rag and rubbed it all over the shoe. How do I buff it out?

there is a difference between presentable and $150. Hell, you could look presentable wearing a 5 pair of thrift store shoes.

I didn't realize you were in Canada. And I didn't know the drinking age in Canada.

I just assumed you were from the good ol' USA.

What did your mother put on your shoes anyway? You may be able to clean/repair them. I know a couple good cobblers who can work wonders with leather.

<< I could say the same thing. I don't need my mom ruining my shoes to add to the list of other problems I'm having. >>

Well, apparently your other 'problems' aren't big enough for you to realize that your shoe 'problem' isn't.

Well, I got 2 pairs of skechers, black and brown that look better than most of the expensive shoes I see.
$50. They lasted longer than shoes I've paid more for, as well. Price does not always equal quality or good-looking

Buffing is just rubbing. I usually just use a clean soft towel. Make sure it's a towel you don't care about b/c it will get dirty and you'll probably want to dedicate it just to shining your shoes. See if you can just keep rubbing it off. Are they suede or smooth leather? I've rarely seen liquids quickly soak into smooth leather...

Quality is also a factor to some people.

$150 Cdn is not unreasonable for a nice pair of shoes. Get over it.

Ugh, take 'em to a shoe repair place later and see if they can put 'em right. I'd say your mom screwed 'em up for sure. It took me a long, long time to realize, my mom isn't the best source for advice. I wish I had known long ago. I still love her, but I now take all her advice with a grain of salt and don't even ask her for advice on important stuff. It didn't really cost you that much to learn this now, and I think the cobbler will be able to straighten 'em out anyway for just a few bucks.

Did you ever forget a homework assignment at home that was due that very day? You piss and moan about it.

I'm going out tonight and my shoes are screwed up. Same deal.

Thats not to say I don't have other problems, I'm just focusing my attention to this one particualr problem and this moment because I need my shoes now. I don't have to pay a bill or write an essay tonght.

what kind of leather is it? if it's calf skin or patent leather just try a damp cloth(not too wet). if it's nappa leather, nubuck, suede then you'll have problems.

EDIT: if it's a calf skin shoe which i'm gonna assume it is because most mens shoes are calf skin, then see if you can remove the stain with a slightly damp cloth. Not too wet and don't rub into it too hard. if the stain is removed and the leather is a little dull, let it it dry a bit then use a good quality shoe polish (preferably the solid was type like "lincoln wax" that comes in the small tins). take a match and light heat the wax a bit to soften it up. use a clean cloth and cover the shoes liberally with it. let it sit for a few minutes and then take another cloth and buff it out.

Actually I don't. I just take the hit and work harder on the other assignments. In fact, do a search on me and see if I've ever complained about forgetting my HW.

I still fail to see the problem. Just wear another pair of shoes.
