I am trying to build and old at machine back up for my sister, after having scavenged parts for other computers. I find that I am missing the ribbon cable for the floppy drive.

My question is this: will an ATA33 cable work in it's place?

Nope. The pin configurations are different. You can probably pick one up at a parts store or possibly CompUSA or Staples.
