Suggestion for PSU

Dear friends,

I need help. This is the first time that i'll build my own PC. Do give suggestion. My propose system:

1. AMD Athlon64 3200+
2. Gigabyte K8NS-939 Nforce3 Ultra
3. Corsair PC3200 DDR400 RAM, 512MByte - 2 unit
4. Maxtor SATA 120GB HDD
5. Nvidia GeForce 6600GT AGPX8 Video card
6. Thermaltake 480W
7. Thermalite cooling system

Is the PSU good enough or too much?

Any suggestion for the cooling system?

TT's power supplies are okay for a budget, but they're not quite up to the Antec/Enermax/Seasonic/Fortron level of quality. Consider an Antec Sonata case + PSU if you need a case; otherwise, try an Enermax or something.

I've never heard of Thermalite... what kind of cooling are you looking at and what does this include?

Also, you may want to consider switching that board for the MSI Neo2 if you're overclocking; they seem to hit HTT speeds a bit above the rest.

EDIT: Nevermind, I though you said "ThermalTake cooling system." Can you give us a link to the cooler you had in mind? Like ts3433 said, ThermalTake power supplies should work fine (my 420W PurePower runs great!), but they are not quite as highly regarded as Antec or Enermax on these forums. Use Google.com to search for reviews on ThermalTake power supplies and those by other companies.

i've a very old system Athlon 550 with 17"monitor so i would be using the casing, monitor, keyboard, mouse from my old system. My old PSU is only 250W.

I Is cooler master good? i only want air cooling system. Pls suggest, thanks.

If you're looking for a good PSU for around the same price, try this Ultra 600W. The XConnect from Ultra has been making waves... this new PSU has had some pretty good reviews (google to find more).

If you have a MicroCenter by you, they have them in store.
