Suggestions for AMD DDR systems?

there are several threads on this and so I am consolidating info stated and asking new questions:

I am looking at an AMD 1.4 ghz processor with DDR RAM PC2100 (if it matters) from www.crucial.com
I am building 3 of these machines too

These are teh suggestions:
AMD Suggestions

MSI K7T266 Pro ~$130
+ listed on AMD as recommended by AMD
- uses VIA KT266 chipset

ASUS A7m ~$160
+ uses AMD 761 chipset
- not listed suggest by AMD

ASUS A7V266 ~$190
- uses the VIA KT266 chipset
- one place sells it on pricewatch
+ 5.1 integrated sound (i hate intergrated stuff but hey that sounds ok)

AMD Suggestions
When buying a case I know we need to look out for AMD approved PS, (in case others looking at systemds didnt know) But what wattage do we need? Will 300w suffice? I heard to at least get 350 or 400watts

I will be running 1.4 GHZ, 512 PC2100 DDR RAM, 40 gig HD, 16x CDR, 10x DVD, NIC, GeForce2 MX,SB Live 5.1 off of it.

This was discussed a few hundred times on this forum. Can you do a search? You will make it easy on others and will be able to find all the information you need.

damn.. there was a very interesting article I read the other day regarding various boards, and more specifically the ddr chipsets:

the via kt266 (vt8633 chipset? what is that?), amd 760, sis, and the new ali revised chip. it appears both the ali and sis chipsets (which are supposed to start shipping this month) are far superior to via kt266.

for the life of me tho, I can't find the link... has anyone else read this? is so, please provide the link as it seems very pertinent to bastard's quesion.

Yes I am reading the other topics, and am reading the mobo forum... I was trying to consolidate some topics covered to avoid future posts since most posts are short and artent too informative in this forum.

The powersupply thing is driving me nuts since they are rated up to a certain processor on AMD and the case I am looking at on newegg.com by Inwin with a PW AMD recommended is not listed nor does it specify what power supply it to see if it would work on a 1.4 ghz system. I think my hopes of getting a case and powersupply for under $80 are getting dismal.
