Sun Java running slow

Does anyone know how to resolve the program of why Sun Java runs slow in general? It doesn?t matter which Java Applet is loaded on the web, everything is slow when you interact with Java. Is there like anything besides Sun?s Java that I can download and install? I mean I read on the Microsoft website that they are no longer supporting their own Java Virtual Machine due to the settlement with Sun.

So, is there any other Java, that runs fast besides Sun?s Java? Or perhaps there is a solution to Sun?s Java running slow. If you can help, please let me know.

Plenty of threads about this one..check the archives. My personal opinion is that the sun download / applett things is crap. It runs slow and crashes half the time for me. I use microsoft java VM, which came with SP1...it was removed with sp1a....and there isnt any other difference between the two service packs...and sp1 is still available on the net under "xpsp1_en_x86.exe".....doesnt crash, doesnt run slow....works perfectly!! there are also separate microsoft jvm downloads available

sure, go to the operating system forum and search for java, it was in there somewhere, i can't remember the exact address

I have the existing SP1, not the SP1a. I'm not sure how to install the Java files that I found in the SP1. Is there like a instruction to tell me how to?

I found the MS Java VM here.

After installing that, make sure to then run Windows Update.
