What are you talking about...according to all of patriot nation, we have Gronk and Hernandez. We do not need a WR deep threat now! //sarcasm

Well, Gronk was probably at 50% tonight and couldn't do anything. If healthy, I think he would have made a difference.

Still don't understand why they cut Taylor Price as he could have been a deep threat. He was better than Underwood or Ochocinco.

Sad thing is I'm sure people will find a way to make this (inevitable) loss Brady's fault.

/not a pats fan

The last Giants TD could have only been a field goal if the Pats D had stiffened - they had to let the Giants get a TD so they could get the ball back. A FG would have meant the Giants win by 1. Then you go back to the safety which was ALL Brady's fault, and that's how you blame it on him.

Don't forget the underthrown pass that was picked off too.

Shockingly to Pats fans, though, I don't blame Brady. It was a whole team effort in losing a game the Giants tried to hand them.

Really? You're going all the way back to the first play of the game and adding a lot of ifs/buts to find a way to blame the entire result on Brady? I love sports.

And the underthrown pass that was picked: he was about to get sacked so once again we really don't know if that drive would have stalled or not. As far as picks go, that one really wasn't that bad in terms of where it put the Giants.

To be honest the one play I do question Brady on was the one where the Giants had 12 men on the field in the last drive. Instead of just throwing the ball away he threw the hail mary that caused another 5 seconds or so to tick off the clock.

How about after going up 17-9, Brady finished the game completing only 7 of 18 passes for 75 yards, 0 TDs and an interception? That's right, over the final 26 minutes of the game, Brady had a passer rating of 27.3.

I actually don't blame Brady (entirely) for the loss last night. The safety was boneheaded, but at least there was some evidence that he thought Branch was going to cut up field. The INT was bad too.

Pats fans are their own worst enemies. For years, all the rest of the NFL heard was "OMG! Brady won these for us! GOAT!", completely ignoring the stellar defense and Adam V. When they lose, excuses start piling up. Every week, we had to listen to that shit on our local newspaper forums and even this year, the usual idiots showed up to spam the Indy Star forums about Peyton's injury and how Brady was GOAT! Just a few short days ago, they were bragging about winning a SB in Peyton's House. Oops! It gets old and my understanding is that Pats fans do this to many other NFL city papers too.

Sorry folks, GOATs don't lose two SBs in which they were favored, especially one in which they were heavily favored (SB 42). I know the Giants were the better team this time and I'll admit that the Pats were in the right place and the right time to get here, as a healthy Steelers team or an average Colts team from the past few years would've knocked them out of the playoffs and they got lucky against the Ravens. Still doesn't make it less humorous, though.

Interesting stats. How many of those incomplete passes were drops? I was surprised to see so many passes get flubbed near the end of that game.

It's very easy to analyze a segment of stats in a vacuum without considering everything that made up the stats. Did you bother to see how many of those were drops? We know at least one was a hail Mary. How many were throwaways due to no one being open and pressure coming?

The worst that can be said about a player is that he's a choke artist, and that's certainly NOT Eli.

That was a tough game to watch at the end. Echoes of 2007 all over again - NYG trailing only by a few points. An amazing catch to put them in good field position. Ugh.

The Patriots should have won that game. The offense should have made it to 24 points on one of those drives. Our defense did just about all you could ask them to do.

This draft, Belichik better be concentrating on the D. We need at least one pass rusher, though I wouldn't complain if he took a DL and OLB for that. Then we need some DBs. Maybe go for a big WR if you can, but BB hasn't been very good in drafting those during his tenure.

LOL...there was a quote somewhere that someone on the Pats D could not believe Belichick ordered them to let them have the TD and that he "is there to do his job" and couldn't believe he was gonna let them have it or something close to that. Really? Are some of the defensive people on the Pats that lost?

Also, what's up with people saying they were favored to win? If you tallied up all the analysts, the majority was Giants winning. Heck, i am a NE fan, and I even thought the Giants had a better shot at winning.

Yeah, if that's true then the player needs to get a better understanding of situational football. Burn your final TO and MAYBE hold them to a FG and give Brady the ball back with < 30 seconds?

And I'm not saying they were favored to win. I'm saying based on the play of the game. They had a poor 1st quarter, but the offense kicked into gear finally in the 2nd. All they needed was one more scoring drive. Even a FG might have sufficed because at least they'd have burned another 2-3 minutes or so off the clock. But no. Brady underthrows a gimpy Gronk and receivers drop passes left and right. Thank god Bill O'Brien is gone. I really don't like his play calling. In a situation where they need to burn time off the clock, he's got them lining up in shotgun formation.

That was going to be a safety anyway if he hadn't gotten rid of it. Just a bad play call for being in your own endzone. They should have eihter run r gotten a short pass to get some room.

Overall it was a great game to watch. Giants had be worried with the fumbles, especially after the int. Eli played great, he showed up big time.

Vegas installed them as favorites. That's what people are referring to.

Here's something I found interesting. Not sure how it compares to other teams or a NFL average.

The Giants picked up 100 yards after contact on offense in Super Bowl XLVI, something they did in three of their four playoff wins.

Gisele rips Pats receivers:

http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/323092-gisele-rips-pats-receivers?xid=cnnbin

As New England turns is attention to the Red Sox, and fans in an online poll run about 70 percent either "depressed" or "angry," one fan's comments were hard to miss. The frustrations of another Super Bowl loss spilled over for Gisele Bundchen as she left the luxury suites of Lucas Oil Stadium. ... While making her way toward the elevator, Giants fans were harassing the supermodel, yelling that "Eli rules, Eli owns your husband." and she responded to her entourage. "You [need] to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot [expletive] throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time," she said in a video obtained by TheInsider.com. "I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."

Aw, poor widdle Tommy.

I especially like the comment from one butthurt Pats fan implying that the Giants "owned" the refs. Bwahahahaha!

I didn't watch the game but the wife gave me the impression that she felt it was the other way around. Wasn't there an obvious pass interference call that was missed by the refs against the Patriots in the second half?

There were at least two missed PIs against the Pats, though I admit, the second one was really close.

I'm sure missed calls went both ways, but the officiating was not atrociously bad by any stretch and certainly not bad enough for Pats fans to claim that officiating lost them the game. I'm not saying most Pats fans are this way, but the douche who commented on that article obviously thinks so.
