Are you kidding me? There was that one play 2 seasons ago where some guy tapped Peyton's helmet and he got a roughing the passer call...Just because you have tunnel vision doesn't mean it does not happen.
And what was Peyton looking at the ref with his hands in the air followed by fist pumping action after the flag was thrown?

Read and understand please.

What difference does it make? You know deep inside, any team that get the benefit from a foul celebrates. Peyton does it just as much as Brady does. He is always looking over at the ref waiting for a call. It's part of the game. So Brady celebrates, so what? It is no different when a receiver celebrates after getting a PI call or when a team celebrates after getting a rouging the kicker call.

What's the difference? Really? One guy is gawking at a ref expecting a roughing the passer call from an inadvertant glance (glance is a understatement here) followed by fist pumping; versus that call that one time that guy did, years ago... remember? And deep down everyone celebrates flags... ya.....

_Totally_ the same thing, no difference there. :whiste:

Brady is now experiencing what Peyton Manning has almost his entire career — how hard it is to win a Super Bowl when the entire team is on your shoulders. At least Manning did it ONCE — Brady never has done it.

Amen.

Interesting what. How many SB QBs have been able to go the whole field with one minute less in the game which what happened in both of those drives?

Please read the commentary. "Mr. Clutch" has had 3 opportunities to win big games in the last minute and has failed miserably on each one (assuming the stats in the article are accurate).

EDIT: And the article even glosses over the fact that in the case of SB42, all that was needed was a FG to send it into OT.

Peyton would have just thrown an INT.

Yep, right after he decided to give the other team a safety on his team's first offensive play of the game, I suppose? Speaking of INTs, shall we discuss the INT Brady threw to end the AFC Championship against the Colts which clinched the Colts winning after coming back from an 18 point deficit?

I love how Eli and the Giants won the Super Bowl and this turned into a Peyton vs Brady discussion.

Just wait until he's released... then resigned... then his first game.. it's going to be Favre all over again.

Does the article add how much time was left in the game on those final drives? SB42 - 35 seconds and SB46 - 57 seconds

Again, please tell me how many SB QBs have gone across the entire field in less than a minute in the game to score? Being the football expert, you should know the type of passes the QB would have to make with less than a minute knowing the defense knows exactly what you're trying to do.

Last SB drive that Peyton had that could tie/win the game, what happened? INT for TD. Losing record in the playoffs with more HOF players and NFL Defensive MVPs than Brady ever has had.

And if Reche Caldwell could have just held onto a ball thrown at the numbers, Manning would even have a SB ring.

fwiw - Brady was 20/24 in the game before Tuck sacked him and he reinjured his left shoulder. Then he went 7/17 afterwards.

It just takes one play. It is tough, but doable.

One thing that does surprise me a little is the fact that no one has discussed the challenge Bill Belichick made on the Manningham catch. I think you have to give Eli credit there, because he rushed the Giants up to the line and forced Bill to challenge. Had the Giants not done that, the Pats staff could've reviewed the play first and told Bill not to challenge, thereby saving a huge timeout. The Giants still would have scored but that additional timeout would've saved that Pats 10-15 seconds.

Last SB drive that Peyton had that could tie/win the game, what happened? INT for TD. Losing record in the playoffs with more HOF players and NFL Defensive MVPs than Brady ever has had.

Which HOF players has Peyton played with and how long did he play with them? I know the answer but I wonder if you do.

Defensive MVPs? You mean the one actual year Sanders actually managed to play the entire year? Are you joking? You can't compare even the best of the Colts defenses in the Manning era to the Pats defenses of the early 2000s.

And if Reche Caldwell could have just held onto a ball thrown at the numbers, Manning would even have a SB ring.

If Hank Baskett holds onto the ball that hit him directly in the hands, the Colts probably beat the Saints. If Wayne cuts in rather than out, the Colts probably tie the Saints at a minimum. Could'ves, should'ves, and would'ves don't count.

fwiw - Brady was 20/24 in the game before Tuck sacked him and he reinjured his left shoulder. Then he went 7/17 afterwards.

The Giants defense also became much more aggressive around that time of the game as well, so hard to say what caused his performance decline for sure.

well to be fair, Indy totally lucked out in beating the Pats in the AFC Championship that year. I was rooting for the Colts, but when it was all said and done, felt like the better team lost. Two words. Reche Caldwell.

As I said earlier, could'ves, should'ves, and would'ves don't matter. Hank Baskett could've caught the damn onside kick and that should've resulted in the Colts beating the Saints, but it didn't happen. I disagree with your assessment about the better team, though, and think the Colts were the better team in that instance.

Now, there have been many times where the better team did lose. Some examples:

*I've never denied the fact that the Patriots were a better team than the Giants in 2007, but the Giants won.

*I also think the Colts were a better team than the Saints in 2009, but the Saints won.

*The Bills were probably better than the Giants in their SB (SB 25? too lazy to look) too.

I think Peyton's biggest issue is one of attitude. He is a perfectionist and when things don't go well, he gets mad/angry/upset and forces things. That's what happened in the first half of the AFC Championship in 2006. Contrast that to Eli, who has a very laid back attitude and doesn't let anything bother him.
