seasons are generally filmed approximately a season in advance. So what we just watched ended during the summer and the hero/villain stuff probably just ended being taped.
i'm curious about this too, since russel was at the live show last night.
did they already film the 20th season? i'm almost 100% positive they 20th season in the fall, because when i filled out the application it said they were filmiing seasons 19 and 20 in the summer and fall respectively.

I'm surprised at how many of you think Russel should have won. Other than finding idols, all he did was lie, he stabbed every other player in the back, and mocked them on camera for being stupid enough to listen to him. How he could have expected the other players to reward him for being a snake is beyond me. He never picked up on the fact that the people he was screwing over were the same people that award the money. The Blond chick out played him, she let him make all the bold moves while she made friends, and it paid off to the tune of a million bucks.

Then he got all cocky and reminded everyone why he shouldn't win.The only one Natalie outplayed was the rat, and that was luck because it was one of the few living species around more stupid than she was. She won mostly because of luck, which is important to have in the game......but she was the least bad choice in some people's eyes and that's unfortunate.
Russell started out the game making bold predictions being cocky and condescending about everyone. Most everyone hated him (viewers that is.)
However he won viewers over imo (incl. me) when he backed just about every one of those up. He mastered the game like he said he could, showed how inept strategically everyone else was, and he made it to the final like he said he would.
He unfortunately didn't back up winning tho, and even tho dominating everyone else may not have been popular, I think if he made a different choice for who he took to the final, and had a better speech, he would have won. Not to mention, he worked extremely hard while others did yoga, etc., lol.
