swap partition

Can a swap partition be on a particular partition that would not be able to boot a traditional Win98SE operating system. I have my main hard drive on my motherboards primary IDE controller, but I have a faster hard drive attached to a faster IDE channel. This faster channel is not bootable though. But since a swap partition should be fast, I'd like to put it on that faster hard drive. A little help? Before I go and spend too much time in partition magic for something that won't work .

Use ghost, copy the partition or disk to the faster disk.
Swap disks around and reboot. That's it. You can now format/partition the old disk.
