How did you fit a 92 mm fan on the Swiftech? Just wondering since it's supposed to take a 70/80 mm fan.

this is very disappointing~
cpu temp went up 3*C with the panaflo 92mm L1A fan

guess ill just stick with the 92mm T&T fan

yea that stinks

i reinstalled my T&T 92mm fan and retested ~ the T&T is a better fan, and its not louder then the panaflo. (both are very quiet)

oh well

That 92mm Panaflo would make a nice case fan. I've thought about doing it a few times. I'd have to mod the rear of my case since it only has an 80 mm hole now.

That be a good idea.Instead of running 2 80mm Panaflo's that I have now in the back.Stick one 92mm back there.I am running 4 case fans as it is.

as most of you have already noticed....

ive recently had the pleasure of R&Ring the swiftech HS (twice), and i must say it was extreamly easy to remove and reinstall.
much easier then the Alpha was.

Thugs--

Since the Panaflo didn't work out to well, I am interested in what exact fan the T&T fan is that you mentioned?? I am not familiar with this brand or this abbreviation (whichever may be the case). Can you provide a link to it or give the full name?

Thanks a bunch

im getting the 92mm low.
panaflos make zero motor noise ~ so whatever noise they do make is more like a pleasant breeze sound, not an annoying BUZZ.
youd be surprised how many of us in here run "quiet" or even "silent" systems :Q
Glad to see this comparison.

For those asking about the SLK900U.
I get about 7C better load temps than the 8942.
I did go with the Panaflo 92mm, 2850 RPM, 57 CFM, 35 dBA,
which is still much quieter than that 80mm Sunon 50cfm screamer
that I was using on the Alpha.

I would probably get the MCX4000 if I change again.
The only thing that I don't care for on the SLK900U is that
the base does not totally cover the chip. Leaves about a
1/16" on both sides. The 92mm fan hangs over the sides of
the heatsink also, but that just helps to cool the ram and
the chipset.

Really got tired of the roar of that Sunon.
Using Panflo quiet fans for my case now as well.
Really made a difference in lowering the noise level.

No T&T, so what's the best fan to put on top of a Swifty for cooling available now?

How does the Zalman CNPS7000-Cu or CNPS7000-AlCu compare to the SLK-900 and MCX4000?

Quick question, is the fan blowing in or exhausting the air? I'm looking for a nice HSF and the MCX4000 seems to be the best bet. What 92mm fan would you guys recommend? I'm leaning towards the Panaflo L1A, but after Thugs increase in temperature, I'm not too sure about that combo. Whats the difference between the L1A, M1A, H1A, and U1A?

Thanks,
spuddy

the MCX4000 is designed to be a blower ~ i didnt try exausting cause that would go against my case airflow anyways.

as for a 92mm fan.....
get at least 43cfm and try to keep the dba below 30 or it might be too loud for your taste.

i think the problem with the panaflo is not cfm but the direction of airflow off of the fan blades.
IMHO: no panaflo

Hmmm.... I might have to try another fan other than this panaflo then. I love the silence, and my cooling is great... but another degree lower is always the quest!!!
