SX1040 Aluminum

Anyone had any experience with This type of case?

Any better than the standard steel version?

isn't it just aluminum plated?

Aluminum has its advantages and disadvantages over steel...

first off, it absorbs heat more effectively than steel

second, it is lighter and just as strong as steel

but, it doesn't absorb as much sound as steel does, so alu cases tend to be louder

and finally...aluminum is very costly to make, it takes about 4 tons of boride (<--not a chemist) to make 1 ton of aluminum? and it must be heated at a higher temp than steel

I really can't commet on the case because the site you linked won't show any specs of this case...nothing. They give it a name that implies it is an Antec and it resembles an Antec but when I went to the Antec site they didn't have any alluminum cases listed. I would not buy a case from a company that didn't give any specifications on the product for sale. Seems like somethings hidden. Just my opinion. I could be wrong.
