was good; has gotten boring.

one fault many TV serials have is they start with 1-2 seasons in mind, then turn to 10+ season formats. i'm on episode 9 of season two and the plot has become completely stagnant; season one was all about establishing characters, the threats they face, and the ambiguous moral choices they must take.
season 2 has become a slow, boring police procedural with pew-pew lasers and teenage love.

So it looks like the tech chick is the mole. Does this mean the modified trojan will now reveal the truth?

I want to talk about night's episode in Canada, but the episode you're talking about was probably 5 back...

so exactly how many people are from the future and hear now. and the pseudo girlfriend puts down some serious smackdown, then calls for a cleaner, should be an interesting twist along with the partner now knowing her secret.

I've seen the first three episodes...it's...not terrible, but not great either.

I watch it sometimes when I'm bored. Good fodder for getting through a workout on the elliptical machine

The problem is, it's kind of boring. The main actress is boring. I don't know if she's boring or if she's written or shot boring, or a combination of them. I could tell from the first 3 seconds of screentime that she wasn't going to be that interesting. However, I like the concept and they have a lot of neat stuff in the show, like the cool suit and graphical interfaces. And they go through some interesting time-travel threads, like if your grandma gets killed, do you die, or do you not die because you've already jumped back in time?

The cop sidekick is kind of boring too, fairly cookie-cutter. I think the computer nerd kid is the most interesting and does a good job supporting the main actress, but the writing is a bit flakey here too - he's like the world's best genius with insane computer equipment in a barn, but he can't figure out how to make some money and move off the farm to get away from his activist dad? I almost feel like they need to slow it down a bit to get more explanation in. I think a better fit for the female lead would have been someone like Linda Hamilton in her role as Sarah Connor:

Tough, smart, cares about her family, serious. I have a hard time believing the Continuum character's (edit: googled - character name is Kiera Cameron) role as both a tough by-the-rules cop and as a loving mom. The mom part is extremely cookie cutter, like worse than an after-school special. I do like the Matthew Kellog character, the one who kind of goes rogue and buys a yacht and gets filthy rich - I think they did a good job writing him as a helper character to the main girl, but not a great job of him interfacing with the bad guy crew because they don't show him being as hardcore as he needs to be in order to cut it with them. But the tech is cool, and hey, it's a sci-fi show, so I catch it from time to time:

You know, one of the best examples of how to make a great TV show I can think of is Harper's Island:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1232320/

Every episode was interesting, they kept it going throughout the whole season (granted, it was only one season long), and they ended it well. It was like eating a good meal: good appetizer, great main dish, delicious dessert, and you leave fat, happy, and satisfied. Now contrast that with Lost, where the first two seasons were probably the most amazing TV episodes I'd ever seen, and then they just flushed it down the toilet. I felt so ripped off by the ending.

I think Continuum has a good premise, but the execution hasn't been that great. They fell short on actually making it continuously watchable. With the way the story is, I think it could have been at the same level of Prison Break, Season 1 - really intense, lots of stuff going on with the bad guys, the good girl, the team back home in the future, the kid developing the technology in the present. But it turned out be not really a cop show, sort of a sci-fi show, and mostly just meh. Pity.

Looks like it got renewed for season 3 as well.
As for the finale for S2
Umm... say what ? They are all(?) got caught and stuck in cubes...and some time travel is going to happen.

Holy shit, this is back. I missed the season four premiere in Canada last week. Episode 2 on now. Premieres in US of A tonight, apparently.

going to be interesting how they end it, with so much time travel going on literally anything could happen.

Don't matter, show's over after this season. It was nice of them to give it these few closing episodes though.

No.

I have not Ever watched anything on the Sy Fy channel.

I did use to watch a few shows on the Sci Fi Channel, but have not got Cable Television in over 10 years. I do pay for the internet via Time warner/Roadrunner.

Roger R. Cross will act in anything Sci-Fi, just pick him up and take him to the shoot. I think it would be harder to find a day laborer outside a Home Depot than it is to cast him in a Sci-Fi drama.

This implies he's not good at it. Which on the contrary, I like him as an actor.

Anyone else catch the finale of this show?
Rail guns with the ability to see through walls...

So, Travis was sitting in a cell, then the jail break, then he decides to take on this guy?
I don't follow that logic, even if he had nothing else going for him.
He was all about Kagame's plan, and that got completely lost in his perspective anyway.

Kiera got her (bittersweet) wish in the end, which I suppose is a better ending that some shows.

Do'h, posted in wrong thread, mods, can you please move it to http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2299141?

Finale was two weeks ago here.

What's his name was talking to Travis and telling him about how he wasn't going to be remembered for anything good. Everyone but him and Garza died for something. That was a bullshit fight though... Travis could have just blasted the guy with the armor in the head and avoided all of that.

Otherwise, holy cop cannon fodder in the last two episodes. Body count was probably in the dozens by the end in one day. Kiera should have let Garza just blow the place earlier in the season -- thought they'd have her do more in the final show.
