Been reading/learning for a while, and ready to get a "nice" computer. Do not plan to oc in
near future, except possible small FSB increase. Will use for Autocad and gaming. I understand the video card arguments, but don't know which specific games as the last I played was 3 years ago. A mix of strategy and FPS.
This is what I came up with:
ASUS p4c800-E Deluxe
3.0 P4 w. Zalman cooler
Corsair TwinxXMS 3200Pro 2x512
LiteOn CDRW
Sony DRU-510A
ATI Radion 9600XT
Turtle Beach
Antec 1080AMG w 430 Antec ps
XP Pro
I am planning on striping raptors in future, but have a ? about SATA. Do I need to buy a
SATA 160gb now, or will it be okay with 160 gb WD ?
My need right now are stability, relative "future proof" and low physical maintenance.
The next 4-7 months will be cycles of surgery/leg traction/rehab since a mine decided
to show me new and interesting ways legs can bend.
This brings up my last question, and I hope it does not break the rules of the forum.
I need this system built right, but physically cannot ATT. Does anyone know of a good custom builder? I will spend a LOT of time on this computer, and do not want to spend a lot of time RMA'ing, loading drivers, setup tweaking, re-arranging fans/drives for heat, etc.
Thanks for all suggestions, comments, and constructive criticism.
