System temperatures too high?

Hi, for my system I am using SpeedFan 4.38 to see the speeds of the fans and the temperatures and I have a few concerns.

I think the CPU speed is 45C but it goes as high as 50C.

The Temp2 value is 64C and the Temp3 (I think Temp3 is the chipset) is 68C. Also the Core is listed as 59C.

I've attached a screenshot of the temperatures:

What are the temps of the room that the PC is in ? That has the biggest effect on cooling.
From the screenshot it looks like the HDD itself is at 45C. For comparison my room is at 74F and my HD temps are in the 30-33C range.
Here is a screenshot showing what my system looks like temp wise.

Notice my system temp is only 28C, just above room temp, that means air is getting in and out of the case well.

68C would concern me if that was a temp when not under load. I rarely see 55C when all cores are maxed.

I opened up the side of the case and now the temperatures are as follows:

Temp1: 39C
Temp2: 62C
Temp3: 67C

HD0: 35C

Core: 51C

So it definitely has something to do with case cooling -- what do you guys think?

The ambient room temperature is around 70C...

Toasty little system you've got there. That's pretty warm across the board, especially since your CPU shows little load.

Although...I see your HD is a relatively old 160gb WD. I'm guessing that the whole system is also relatively old. If this is true, and nothing has changed recently, then maybe its been running this warm for years, and you shouldn't worry too much about it. More details about the system might help here.

Sure

It's a DFI Lanparty NF4 with an AMD 165 Opteron Dual Core (a little old

It has 2 SCSI hard drives and one WD160 drive internal

My original goal was to have it quiet so I had a fanless Sapphire X1300 video card and changed the chipset fan to a heatsink-only design.

Recently I wanted to upgrade the video card so I got an Asus 4850 which has a gigantic fan on it and so I had to change the chipset heatsink back to the fan because otherwise the video card would not fit...

Anyway that's when I discovered I had this temp issue...

Thoughts?

THANKS!

I hope that is a typo, 70C for a room temp would be brutal

See if the fan on the heatsink is turning at the correct speed. I have come across a couple intel stock fans lately that appear to be running fine, but when compared against the exact same fan new, the old fan was running at about half the speed.

If it is fan 1 in your image, those rpm are way too slow.

I'm sorry; I meant to say the room temperature is around 70F

For Fan1 basically what I have is a large fan (12 cm) which I picked for lower speed and hence less noise. It's sitting on a gigantic heatsink unit on top of the CPU. I can still check to see if I can bump up the fan speed a little bit.

Thanks
