I almost expect to get flamed for a repost but I didn't see this listed.

CompUSA B&M has Norton Systemworks 2002 Pro for $99, less 10 instant rebate, less $50 MIR, less $30 upgrade rebate. The best part about the upgrade rebate is that it can be any Norton product, or McAffe or Ontrack.

To me, 10 for the boxed retail Pro vesion seems like a pretty good deal. It's only till Wed the 21st

Have Fun.

I ordered this today - it's an excellant product (don't know about go-back), for a retail box this is an excellant price if rebates come.

(BTW - this is sort of a repost - it's included in the COMPUSA sale thread - I think it deserves it's own thread).

If I have this delivered, WA state sales tax (and rebate postage) pushes the price of this offer to about a buck less than the OEM version at softwarecraze.com; so I bought there (with no rebate worries).

I bought one yesterday, this is really a good deal! Notes: $50 rebate doesn't need any previous ownership, but the $30 does, even tho you can use any symantec software as proof.
Go get it!

Why is this program so good? Is it still worth having if I have NAV already?

GHost 2002 is why it's so good. Clone your Hardrive, crash and you can clone it back in five minutes.

I've thought about getting it for Antivirus but every NAV that i've ever used was so darn invasive to my registry that I really worry about ever using it again.

Too bad I paid $47.00 for Ghost 2002 last month just by itself.

I ordered from SoftwareCraze.com. Haven't ordered from them before, but they seem pretty legit. Shipping was only $4.95.

I'd rather go that route than wait a year for all those rebates from CompUSA.

The proof of prior can be the CD, diskettes, or the title page from the manual. If it was downloaded then the confirmation, if it is oem from the computer maker, then the 'registered to' from the help > about screen.

The $30 rebate is from Norton, the$50 rebate is a comp usa rebate, (I think... I'll check later to be sure)

I got this just in time for my lava lamp delivery

TyCo: For finding softwarecraze.com, I should have credited BLoop for starting a new thread (who found the link in a previous thread).

I believe both rebates are Symantec (Norton) rebates, not from CompUSA. I checked the link provided above, and it says both rebates are *in-box*. I'm not sure, is it possible to get both rebates? I have the previous version with the box/CD. I bet both rebates are going to require proof of previous ownership.

You beat me to the point. DirectDeals will also probably have the OEM of it soon. The only difference with the OEM is no upgrades to the programs & Live Update doesn't work, but you still are able to download the A/V definition updates just fine. I like doing this manually anyways, I don't always trust those LiveUpdate-type programs.

You should be able to get both rebates.

For proof of purchase you can use ether the upc or a flap from the inside box top. The $50 rebate is addressed to Dept 30755 NWSPro/CompUSA, Phoenix; the $30 ugrade rebate is addressed to Dept 30735 NSW 2002 Pro

Comp USA advertised both rebates, so if not they will have some upset people banging on there doors.

Midnight Rambler:

1. DirectDeals DOES have this OEM version, though it's $20 more.

2. You DO get free program updates, for a year. The same terms as my 2001 retail version. You get unlimited virus updates.

3. Live Update DOES work just fine.

Sticker on NSW Pro 2002 says will work with XP.

BTW, info on Symantec site, in rebate section, says you must have a previous version of Norton Systemworks in order to get $ 30. upgrade rebate, BUT a close reading of the actual rebate form says "...any Norton or Symantec product..." so beware !

EDIT: here is linky to Symantec lead in page with info on rebates and ability to download forms...

here

EDIT2: here is linky to download $ 50. rebate form...

$50

enjoy !

I am currently using the OEM version of Norton Systemworks 2001 Pro. So I'll need to send a screenshot of my Help->About screen for the $30 upgrade rebate, right ?

I also have McAfee Firewall ... should I send the title page of the use guide for that just to be on the safe side ?

I am sure there are other people using the OEM Syswoks 2001 as well .... what are you guys doing ?

If you really want your money, I would highly suggest actually CALLING THEM and asking what they want, rather than playing the guessing game here.
