T3 Home Connection Question

I assume you mean for connection to the internet. You'll have two costs: 1 to the TelCo provider and another to the ISP for bandwidth. Both vary.

The DS-3 intself will vary from TelCo to TelCo and will also depend on mileage how many local loops you'll have to pay for. At least one, if the TelCo would even have the facilities to drop a DS-3 into a residential neighborhood. If they don't have facilities, then they'll quote you construction charges. Trust me these aren't cheap. But, even those charges can be "waived" if you sign a long enough contract with the right provider.

The ISP costs will vary as well.

Also, a DS3 comes in on fiber, usually SONET and is then muxed down to DS3. It usually takes at least at least two full racks, 220 power, etc. Equipment costs would be at least $100,000+.

Oh no - I'm just talking about the premise equipment needed to terminate a T3 - Last time I got a FLM150 OC12 SONET MUX it was about $60K. Add to that a router and CSU capable of landing a T3 and you're up near 100K. That doesn't include the costs of what a telco would charge you just to GET the fiber to your house!
