Tablet Choices?

Hello everyone,

I'm looking at purchasing a tablet with in the next couple of months and am not really sure what to get -- the only thing I can say with certainty is that I do not want anything Apple. I'm not entirely sure what is all out there; the only one I know about is the Motorola Xoom.

Outside of general web-browsing, my main uses will be for watching anime. These usually come in the form of .mkv files (or .avi for lower quality). On my Windows machine, I use Media Player Classic (w/ CCCP) and on Linux, I use SMplayer. I'm not sure how this would work on the tablet, my guess is VLC? Any ideas? Streaming is another factor as I sometimes use services such as Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix.

Secondly -- emulation/gaming. The classic SNES and GBA emulators would be nice to have. A PS2 emulator would be fantastic, but I'm guessing that is out of the realm of possibilities at this time? Any information here would be nice as well.

Based on all that, what are my options, if any? If you need any more information, just let me know.

mkv files only play well on two tablets: the Exynos-based Samsung Galaxy 7 plus, and the Tegra 3-based Asus Transformer Prime. Both can do everything else you want (except PS2- that is years down the line), so they should be your initial starting point depending on what size you like.

That is unless your anime is Hi10P. Then no tablet can play it.
