TBred 2400+ & Shim Help!!!

Hello, Ok I just recieved my new XP 2400+ TBred today along with a shim I ordered here. Ok now I am waiting on my memory before I can fire my new system up. So as i'm installing the shim on the cpu I notice that the side of the shim covers the top row of l1 and l4 pins (Note: I put a yellow line on the pictures so you know which pins i'm talking about). Anyways I put on the shim and some artic silver 3 and then slapped on my heatsink and i'm all ready for the memory. but my question is: Do you think it will be ok to turn it on with the shim covering those contacts with it being a copper shim and all? Or should I take it apart and redo it and get a different shim.

just be careful installing the HSF and pitch the shim. use even pressure and keep the HSF level when latching it. this will prevent you from chipping the core. be patient and it will be fine.

Well since the heatsink is a SLK-800 I decided to get rid of the shim and use the little mounting feet instead. Thanks for you help though.
