TEAM FORTRESS 2. WHERE DID THIS COME FROM? Hey, they're still making it! It's got a totally exaggerated, crazy art style now. Looks a little like Spy vs. Spy or No One Lives Forever, kind of a '60s spy feel. It's going to be the included multiplayer mode in Episode 2! Class-based, etc. You know the drill. Great news for shooter fans. We all thought this game was dead years ago.

Quake TF pretty much owned anything out yet.

TFC was pretty good, I guess a lot better in most respects being on a newer engine, but maybe some of the awe wore off after playing the crap outta Quake TF.

I've still been waiting for a new TF to come out. I guess this will do. I thought maybe a mod team would do Team Fortress:Source but I guess its infrginement, but either way Valve should've been working on it like they did for CS:S and DoD:S cause the game friggin' owns and Source engine would be awesome for it IMO.

Checked out the link.. wish there was some screenshots! Not sure how I'll feel about the art style.

seeing my friend play team fortress was one of the reasons that got me into computer fps. Shortly after i discovered cs is a much funner game but TF still deserves props, certainly happy to see a new refresh.

There is a TFC mod in the works for the Source engine --> Fortress Forever. Valve took everyone working on the TF2 project and put them on the Half-Life 2+CS:S project to get that out first.

I will try out TF2, but will likely not play it for long. I have been playing TFC religiously since it was originally released, and I think it is the time in my life to move on from a lot of gaming all together.

Quake TF was nice, but and TFC was nice because of th nostalgia, but the concept and game play is nothing new or all that exciting. Unless they redefine it, its going to be another money milker where its the same damn thing with only better graphics / physics. Nostalgia is nice, but it won't cut it alone.

I paid $40 for HL1 8 years ago.
I paid $100 for HL2 because I got the pack with everything in it.
Paid $20 for Ep 1 and am expecting the same for Ep 2 and 3, so about $60 total, which is the price of a new full game.

I'm sooooooo excited about this!!! I spent countless hours EMP jumping to obscure corners just to build, upgrade, and repair sentry guns. Team Fortress was the first multiplayer game to actually incorporate teams and classes, a true classic in any form IMO. It was the beginning of a more refined multiplayer game a step above and beyond the twich.

Take a look at the plug on the wall?!?! Seems like rats, although that wasn't a TFC level?!?

Lies! They're only doing this so they can laugh at us for being fools again...but I want to believe! I won't believe it until it's out.

The art style however is a refreshing departure from all of the "realistic" looking games.

IMO it's a little fishy that TF2 is coming out as merely the multiplayer component of a $20 Episode game. Surely something like TF2 should have it's own line like DODS if it's going to be a serious multiplayer game that will get due support. Can't help thinking they decided it wasnt going anywhere or wasnt good enough for an individual release so decided to tidy up what they had and bundle it.

Yeah maybe sceptical, and not necessarily such a indicator of gloom if you remember Enemy Territory is the result of the singleplayer game collapsing and Activision/id deciding to tidy it up and ship it out for free. Enough to make me change my mind about buying Episode 2 anyway.
