television - sports - HELP

ok, i'm clueless when it comes to television, cable, etc.

but i know my former boss had her cable set to east coast time so that they could actually catch sport games early instead of having to wait for the airing on west coast.

the bf loves lakers...but since we aren't in LA, we can't get away games. he wants to get the slingbox but hook it up at someone's house in LA but i just find that a bad idea.

is there a solution? how can we watch laker away games in SD?

Find out what your cable company offers.

Some providers offer sports packages, like NFL Sunday Ticket, MLB Extra Innings, or NBA League Pass where you can view games out of your market.
You may be able to subscribe to one through your cable co... But sometimes, like with the NFL Ticket, you may not be able to get it unless you have Direct TV.

As far as setting your box to east coast - I've never heard of it.

We had east and west coast feeds through Dish - loved it. Then the fugging government made us choose local.
