Maybe I’m behind the times but I thought that is true of all cars. Driving off the dealer lot knocks 20% or more off the value of a vehicle.

According to the article, new trucks depreciate 20% in the first year. The swastitruck dropped 35% because it's special, I suppose.

According to the reporting, 35% is likely to be optimistic. The true offer is going to be even worse. 🤣

This guy just increased the truck's value by making it actually useful for work!

Honestly not that bad of an idea even for regular modern trucks, to get around the short bed limitations. Could stick some full 16' lengths of lumber up there.

So you spend a hundred grand on a truck, another couple thousand on custom racks, and you end up with a truck that has about half the utility of a $40k F150.

To be fair, 20k is a misnomer. For 20k you get a shell, doors and wheels. Probably most will be at 30k+
