Completed The Banner Saga 3. Damn,

Beat Horizon Zero Dawn. Magnificent game. It takes the drab open world formula and paints a breataking fresco to hide the plain brick underneath.

Fantastic world, fantastic story and mystery, fun edge of the seat gameplay and combat.

My son has taken to drawing his own machine dinosaurs and hunters.

Final day of the year and I bit the bullet for Elex 2. If you've played the first one then you'll know what to expect for the most-part, except this one is far more open world and much easier than the first, but that could be because it's a larger map so you're not getting railroaded by over-leveled enemies right from the start. You also get a jetpack at the start of the game which makes exploration a lot more fun (and rewarding) and adds a new element to the combat if you want to spec into upgrading the jetpack.

I will say, it's a lot of fun despite the incredibly janky controls, ridiculously disjointed dialogue, and over-the-top voice acting. Plus the trailer has an amazing song written specifically for the game by Jonathan Davis of Korn.

Indeed, my understanding of Elex is that it is peak Eurojank gaming.

I've been spending the eve playing through AvP 2011, the Marine campaign. Game started plain bad, but its sort of grown on me like Athlete's foot or some sort of flesh eating virus and now I have to see it through.

Already completed the Alien Campaign, good part of the way through the Predator campaign, and on the last mission of the Marine...

Playing through Days Gone...yet again. Experimenting with the frog hop trick, and man is it hilarious. Used it on the biggest horde and you can just stand there on a roof where they can't get at you. Takes the fun right out of it. It'll save n00bs that are not improvising enough to beat them on the first playthrough though. Not being fully enhanced with Nero injections, or having all of your skills filled in, can make things difficult.

r/DaysGone keeps growing, and the calls for a sequel with it. Who knows, maybe someone will listen? There is talk of a remaster being real.

Have not finished Stalker 2 yet. Might abandoned this playthrough and start a new one. The closer I get to the end of the story, the more Doom like it feels. Where the enemy mix starts feeling annoying to deal with instead of fun.
