The G70 will appear as the '7800' and will come in Vanilla, GT and GTX versions. It can do DX9 and OpenGL 2.0, and obviously SM3.0. Apparently it will go on sale on the 22nd of June in PCI-E varients first, followed by AGP varients. The single config card will require a 400W PSU and the SLi Config will require a 500W PSU. Its clocked at 430mhz core and 1400mhz for its memory.

At prices of approximately:

Vanilla: $500-$600
GT: $700-$800
GTX: $900-$1000

(estimated Swedish prices)

Nice.

Nice.

A 1000 francs is about 815 dollars US.
570 USD - 650 USD for the GT
730 USD - 815 USD for the GTX

That seems about right considering the 6800GT now is 350-380 dollars. So lets hope that GT over clocks well, because I doubt the vanilla will have all the shader power of the GT or the GTX.

The 6800GT is $510+ in Sweden right now, so I expect the new cards to cost not much less than what it will cost to have them in the US - in SLI mode, that is...

I'd be more concerned about how accurate this information is to begin with. Odd how I spent over an hour talking with nVidia (and I am under NDA), and none of this came up (and I did in fact ask about the G70).

I'll wait until I get the information directly from them, or when the official launch (paper or otherwise) happens.

That's not what I was commenting for (tooting my own horn, that is).

It just really bugs me that news sites post speculation such as the above (and Inq wasn't the only one, but I tend to wonder if they didn't piggyback off TC) as truth, when the information was never released to begin with.

I didn't see it that way. I just noticed the rig and the other stuff you seem to do.
I havent been here all that much so I'm not so familiar with the big boys.

As for the G70, how do they know what models will be available, and when, if the manufacturers haven't said anything about that yet? Or have they?

I hope the G70 will have a dual-link connection. :| I think SLIed G70s will run a 30" Apple display VERY nicely.

i hope the 7800 looks cool as in heatsink wise. i just got a 6800gt and its already becoming old. but i couldn't spen that much money on a new gen card anyway. (the bandwitdh on it is only 3 more gb/s than the 6800ultra, but much higher fillrate)

That's hella expensive for a card like that, doesn't it support longhorn's new futures?

the GTX might be a single slot solution so it could be like the 6800GT...

Everybody said the same thing about the 9800pro when the x800 and 6800GT's came out. The price went down maybe 20 dollars while the newer generation were 120 dollars more than the older generation. The demand is high for what they yield.
