As far as I know, the issue is not getting Mantle to work, it's Dice taking forever to fix the problems with normal BF4 and not wanting to look bad by adding Mantle before they fix problems they're getting sued over.

Other Mantle things, like that Swarm demo, are not allowed to be released before the BF4 patch, at the request of Dice.
Given the stuttering in the demo they showed, I'm fairly certain they are still fixing their Mantle code path as well.

DICE is still adding graphical features back into the game, like grass and tree physics. They were probably suspected of issues and removed before release, since they were there before.

I'm not sure Mantle will be released until the entire game is out, without missing features.

People's performance is a little different after every patch. It's pretty crazy imo, I've never seen a game handled so poorly. And it's reflecting doublebad on AMD.

Paying to be a beta tester is always fun. It also appears to be the new business model for EA :whiste:

Good to know. Thank you.

And the swarm demo is making mantle 10% faster compared to dx every week, so the agressive, gready, shortsighted shareholders of EA is doing Amd a favor helping them with their marketing decisions to release the product when its actually ready? Lol.

They did the same thing in bf3. Took out terrain deformation in the beta and never put it back in.

It puzzles me how it is possible to mishandle bf4 like that. It looks like bonus decisions to me. What a sad mess from a management perspective.

I am pretty sure it doesnt reflect on amd. If anything, looking at stock price the last months, going seriously up, mantle can only be good because aside from low margin consoles and lownend apu the rest of the portfolio is in total ruins. Ruins in a hardpressed pc market. Mantle performance and outlook must be good and someone must know or someone pushed the wrong bottom

I don't have a whole lot to say about Mantle the biggest story, IMO, about it is CPU overhead, since it completely (in comparison to how bad it was before) levels the playing field between Intel and AMD CPU's.

It is against forum policy to not disclose your affiliation in your signature, especially if you are giving us "hints" about a product's performance. The FCC doesn't like it either.

I will check with the mods to see if that is still the case here.

Lol, okay. I didn't realize I was doing you all such a great disservice. There's a big difference between knowing things by affiliation and knowing things because you're an employee.

It certainly would be helpful to know. It would help know if a persons word is based on insider knowledge or speculation when dealing with one brand or the other. It would also allow one to know where bias may lay in other situations.

For what it's worth, I think you should have a disclaimer in your signature also. Though I don't have a problem with it if you don't either. We'll just add the disclaimer ourselves after every post you make. We're diligent like that.

Kaveri chips have already been delivered to the likes of Tomshardware, so his
affiliation doesn't have to be directly with AMD in order to have seen Kaveri in action.
In fact, weren't they running Kaveri chips at CES?

Yep. There are legal ramifications to shilling products on internet forums, and while I won't name anyone specifically - I AM NOT SAYING ANYTHING SPECIFIC NOR AM I NAMING ANYONE - There was a recent case in Virginia regarding this. The court demanded that the firm in question, which had shills badmouth a competitor, to disclose their identities.

Need I remind everyone that this is a US based website. US laws apply to this website. There are serious legal ramifications to this in the works right NOW in courts NOW regarding "shilling" on internet forums. I saw the links to this court case last week, can anyone link it? In addition to this, Samsung was recently fined millions of dollars in China for doing the same thing. Badmouthing competing products through viral marketing without disclosing the affiliation. I will find this link again in a bit.

In summary:

Legal ramifications
Against FCC rules
This is a US based website.

Not to mention. Let's say I worked for "Ford" and pitched their products while bad mouthing Chevrolet. Doing that on a Ford forum without disclosing my affiliation and the fact that i'm paid to do such is a disgusting practice. That's aside from the LEGAL ramifications.

Geeze, thanks, I didn't realize the US ran my country. Tell me more, I don't remember being invaded or anything, when did US law become international law?

Huge difference between giving legitimate info, and shilling. I don't recall ever saying anything that was misleadingly wrong.

And also, this thread is still about Mantle, make another thread or something. I don't care. Just doesn't belong here.

When we saved the world from the Germans, the Japanese, and the Soviets.
