Ok, I got a fairly decent heatsink on my barton cpu right now but the 80mm fan just isn't cutting it. The rpm is only 3000. I care not for noise so I am looking for a 80 mm fan with the highest rpm to screw onto my heatsink. What is the loudest, most fastest 80mm rpm fan I can get? Links? Thanks for any help. Also, what's your guys thoughts on one of those huge box case fans blowing in on the open case?

Whats the difference between the Tornado TD8038H and TD9238H? Also, it says case fan, not cpu fan. Should that matter? Thanks.

I would have thought a Delta monster would be noisier than a Vantec Tornado but the Tornado is on the top-end scale of air cooling.

so whats better, a tornado or a dantec? I will be getting a 80mm fan to put on my cpu heatsink. Also, are there any canadian stores that sell these puppies?

Anyone think the Delta fan(Link Above) is better then the Vantec Tornado? Remember, noise is not a factor.

If noise isn't a factor (you might soon realize with that monster that it is a factor) than the delta is proabably the most powerful solution you could get. However there is a point of diminishing returns. A 100 cfm fan might be 1-2 degrees hotter than that 220cfm beast in which case I'd buy the quieter fan.

If you decide to go with a 120mm fan try to get an adaptor that's at least an inch thick as that will eliminate the deadspot and provide more efficient cooling.

For the price of that Delta you could buy an XP-90, Arctic Cooling Freezer 64, or a Zalman CNPS7000-ALCU (not sure which of those will fit your mobo). They will provide better cooling than 99% of the hsf's fitted with 80mm fans, i.e. you'll see a much larger drop in temps with a better heatsink than a better fan.

I had a delta that woke up a friends wife three floors above the room it was in, i works great but every build i do i design it more and more silent. Wih the right case and proper cooling things like the delta are not needed. Also keep in minds that a normal fan is 25 dba for every 2 dba increase it is twice as loud. the Vantec is 55 dba. As insane as that sounds and my math is probably off but that is 32896x the sound of a normal heatsink fan. 33 thousand times louder then a normal fan. Good news is hearing isn't affected till you start reaching 80dba (which can also be considered Noise poluntion in some places.)

Edit Turns out memory is worse then thought. doubling happens at three dba increase. So its only 1024 times as loud as a normal Heatsink fan.
