Talos Principle is great when you are still figuring things out.
Once you know what to do the game is about 15 minutes long. They need some sequels.

I totally disagree with that. It's dozens of puzzles, each unique.

You might solve some quickly, but not others. It gets increasingly challenging the entire game. I've gotten stuck on a puzzle over and over for a long time.

I played Talos based on advice here. I enjoyed it. I started on Road to Gehenna but got burned out on it and haven't finished. I don't know if it is the default angle of view setting but I get nauseous after playing it for more than a few minutes at a time. I play mostly first person games and this is the only one that does that to me.

I picked up the following, all under $5 (I couldn't help myself):

- Brutal Legend
- Kingdoms of Amalur
- SW: Republic Commando
- The Stanley Parable
- Ikaruga

and I added a bunch of stuff to my wishlist for the next go around. I wasn't planning on getting anything then ended up buying 200 hours of entertainment for $20, so I might surprise myself and pick up a few hidden gems I haven't considered yet before this sale is out.

I just bought unreal tournament 3.
I am going to buy : "The evil within 2" as well because there is a patch added that allows for the player to play the game in first person view only.
And the graphics look very good.

Hellblade is also on the list to buy.

Not the steam sale, but newegg had an e-mail promotion for 50% off sale prices for some games - got Far Cry Primal and Assassin's Creed Syndicate for $10 each which is much cheaper than isthereanydeal shows for either, though there was $5 shipping for both. Also had Wolfenstein II for $20 but didn't get that.

Though I assume that's a wi-fi connection while the physical device is a faster cable.

Not necessarily. My TV is hooked up via a cable. I just tried out Dark Souls 3 with the new Steam Link app for my TV. I was surprised with how good it looked.

That said, the controller felt quite delayed. I don't know if that's a problem with streaming or with the controller itself (a Dualshock 4 connected to the TV via bluetooth).

The Long Dark is on sale for $7.49. I'm pretty sure this is the lowest it's ever been since full release. They're still updating it with additional content. This is more of a true survival experience (compared to most "survival" games) where survival is really the focus it seems. Cool map to explore, and there's a lot of scavenging involved while you're trying to survive (which I enjoy). There's the story mode too, which I haven't done as much of, but is supposed to be pretty good. Easily worth the $7.49, and highly recommended for that price.

I generally wait for these seasonal sales and grab everything that's under $10. If a game is still full price but at least 60% off, I'll usually grab it too.

I found wireless Link to be borderline unusable, maybe it'd be okay for like, a strategy game or something, but for anything even close to FPS (and DS I'd put even above that..) latency really matters. I've yammered about this on this forum, but with steam Link/any other game streaming, wired network is a must. Wireless mouse/kb is okay though, from my experience (handful of games via Link).

Picked up Mud Runner, Ark, and a SteamLink. I'll likely be back for more later. Spin Tires/Mud Runner is my guilty pleasure. I've already got 10 hours on it and played the original a ton. I'd say its a pretty good sale this time.

Ah, I thought you had VV already.

I'd say GD has more staying power (I've dove back into that one more than a few times, never even finished VV really) but both are fun on their own merits. VV is a great price at $5 and if you enjoy it you'll get a solid ~10-20hr for a once-through, probably 30-40hr for 100%/NG+/whatever they use for hardmode. GD has more going for it though imo and it's still being actively developed. They release new expansions, free content, etc on a fairly regular basis.

At any rate, get both. It's only twelve bucks

Any of the DLC on VV worthwhile? The steam reviews are less than glowing. I just picked up the base game am fairly impressed so far. I just need to see if I can reassign the aim and move separate on my controller like you can do with the mouse.

Streaming games is kind of a pain to be honest. I've got a shield hard wired. Some games work fine with it though, Forza horizon 3 for example.

I had a $5 off $30 coupon for Steam purchases through PayPal, so I just had to use it. I ended up buying Hollow Knight, One Finger Death Punch, Outlast, The Talos Pricipal Gold Edition, and Hidden Folks. My total was $30.07 before the coupon, so I spent just about as little as I could to be able to use the coupon and got five really great games in the process. Oh, and there's also 5% cash back via Chase with purchases made via PayPal as well, so that saved me another $1.25 or so I think.

No clue, I only ever played the vanilla game, and didn't complete it.

Squad is $24 on the summer sale.

I've just heard about this game. I'm a fan of the Original Ghost Recon and Bad Company 2. BF3 was OK, didn't care for BF4, didn't try BF1.

Sound like Squad is something I should try?

Could be I tried a free weekend and it was a little too hardcore to be fun for my tastes.
It reminded me of project reality for BF2. I did find project reality fun in small doses.
